I solved the o-rings for the pipe, called a local shop that was able to get their hands on them! I can post the part numbers if neccessary, don't have them on hand right now tho.
However I checked the coils which was full of oil so it's time for a rocker cover gasket aswell..

Contacted the same shop and they ordered them for me.. but to my surprise they're from Elring  :(
Should I just apply the Elring seal & use a bunch of silicone aswell?
Consult the guide here for details of where to apply sealer. The outside of the corners at the front and the half moons at the rear are the only places you need sealer. Also use the Vauxhall black oil pan sealer, or an equivalent product, listed in the guide. Don't use the green sealer listed in the Haynes manual. It eventually goes hard and crystalized.

Make sure the mating surfaces on the head and the covers are clean. No crud or varnish. The securing screws are tightened to a very low torque. It's important to get them evenly and correctly tightened. If you over tighten then you may distort the covers and they will leak.

You might only need new O-rings. Part # 9129999 supercedes 90410899. O-rings should be available from anywhere that does O-ring seals. Can anybody confirm the size of the O-rings required?

Turn the key clockwise in the drivers door past the vertical to approx two o'clock. The key might feel stiff. I've read on here that the door knob might not pop up, even so pulling on the handle should open the door.

Omega General Help / Re: Front caliper mounting bolt size
« on: 06 August 2022, 11:57:10 »
Update - having searched the forum I've found the answer is M12x40mm.

State of underpants... Still questionable.

Most of these sort of bolts are "metric fine" thread on Vauxhalls. That's not the normal thread, and you'll be lucky if your local bolt shop carries them.
The M12 x 40 screws are standard metric pitch, ie 1.75mm. Perhaps you didn't re-torque the missing bolt when last refitted?

I would create a free basic account on an image and/or file hosting site. Upload your photo images or other files. Then copy and paste the links to the images or files into your posts on here. Try imgur.com or Google Drive or Dropbox. There are others.

Omega General Help / Re: 2.2 HBV vacuum feed
« on: 29 July 2022, 18:25:31 »
I have and with no luck. Maybe I'm not understanding the instructions.
Which is the locking ring that needs to be pulled backwards? Is it the yellowy/white ring or the black collar with the hole in it?
I assume "Press-in the latch", means press in the grooved latch visible in this photo at approx 2 o'clock on the white ring, in a line from the hole in the black collar.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. So my disconnected vacuum tube is the one leftmost just above the first "t" in photobucket. And the vacuum tube just pushes into a rubber socket, which is (hopefully) still in place? On our car we can just about see on our car a countersunk recess.

I can't get the collar on the top matrix pipe to retract. Anybody got any ideas. Looking at the photo here I think the collar is maybe already retracted but it doesn't want to move.

Omega General Help / 2.2 HBV vacuum feed
« on: 29 July 2022, 11:51:09 »
Have removed a leaky HBV on a 2003 2.2 16V. Bit of pain to get the hoses disconnected. Anyway the HBV came out with the vacuum tube still attached. It seems that we accidentally pulled the other end out of it's rubber connector. It's only 5 inches long, so wherever it connects must be very close by.

Am I correct that the mating connector is on the bulkhead somewhere around the heater matrix pipes?
Is it just a rubber socket? And is it flush, recessed or protruding?
Is it just a matter of pushing the tube into the rubber or might the rubber socket have disappeared into the cabin?

I imagine that it would be easier to see what's going on if we disconnect the matrix pipes from the bulkhead. That said, I'm reluctant to risk disturbing them for fear of creating another leak. What's the secret to getting them to disconnect, if it comes to it?

Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Coolant transfer pipe o-ring

Isn't that dielectric grease for waterproofing towing hitch electrical connectors and similar?

The seal in question is between the engine block and transfer pipe. Wouldn't it be better to smear some grey high temp RTV onto the old seal instead?

Looks like it's GM# 9128362. And not cheap. I would imagine that any good seal supplier should have something suitable. Can you get the old seal off and measure it? If the engine is out of the car as in your photo should be a lot easier.

£15 for set from Amazon. Omega is the same as Carlton and Senator. The drivers side is 24" and has the spoiler. The passenger side is 19" and has no spoiler.

Even the smallest of the jewellers screwdrivers might be too fat for some connectors. Try an 0.8mm or maybe 1.0mm watchmakers screwdriver, a 0.8mm or maybe a 1.0mm drill bit or the pin tool you get with a mobile phone to remove the micro sim tray, since you likely already have one. They're around 0.8/0.9mm.

The wire with terminal attached is removed to the rear. The release tool might need to be inserted from the front probably on the inboard side.
