it runs from the top heater matrix connection pipe at the bulkhead,  along the side of the head and then round into a pump looking kind of thing mounted under the edge of the expansion tank.... ish....

and it's a single run, no tee piece.

can anyone educate me on how the plastic clip bits where the hose joins the pipe function....  how they're removed intact and how they're put back on tightly ??

Iirc, the plastic clip has a sleeve which when squeezed slides back a little then you can in theory pull the pipe of the matrix  :)

Some find it easy, some like me get close to torching the car before the piggin thing comes apart  ;)

Have fun  :-X :D

Often very stiff and need a fair bit off wiggling/ twisting, while being careful not to break anything.Once you have the old one off I would do a couple of practice runs - on and off - before fitting the new one.Ime,they are the type of thing that might be a bit of a pig,or might just go straight on without a problem.Unpredictable as with most things on an Omega.

A spray of wd40 or similar around the end of the pipe where the sliding ring is helps it to go back and forth as needed ime Max.
That just sounds wrong for some reason. ;D

And is as the WD40 is not great for rubber seals.  :y

A wipe of antifreeze would work equaly as well
