MV6 Value?
« on: 19 October 2006, 11:54:53 »

Hi all, many thanks to you all last week for the advice on fitting a new HBV, it was great fun!! Hhmmm, a couple of cut knuckles-not too bad!
Anyway, would any of you have a guide-line value on my car?

MV6 Saloon, 3.0.  98 R-Plate, 48k miles (yes, very low), Manual, Cloth, Solid Black ext, Xenons, Sun Roof, Climate, Recaro's, 17" Irschmer alloys.etc..(ALL STANDARD-NOT TOUCHED) Interior extremely good condition (unmarked). Exterior very clean but with usual stone chips, rust bubbles on rear passenger door (just under the window seal strip-not sure why only there). Has service history, was a Vaux dealers car- one service missing? I've had the belts done at 45k ish at main dealer plus full service! Reciepted. Tax & Mot'd.

I've owned it for about 3 years but hardley used it at all in last 2 (had new demo's every week in last job but didn't want to sell mine).

Any idea's on value would be appreiciated.

Thanks again..........

Yeah m8 how you've described it, it sounds like a very nice clean car and with that mileage you should get around £1500-2000 no probs good luck m8 :y

Your problem there is its age, being an R Reg 2k is too high..

Locally i saw a 98 R MV6 100k miles with LPG conversion, proffsionally fitted. has been on sale for 2k for over 6 months now...

Unfortunley the age will put people off, bear in mind that i paid 2.7 K for my X Reg facelift a year ago, and people here recenty bought X reg facelifts for around 2.1 k...

£1500 is your max  :(

By all means put it up at 2k but i feel you will be waiting a long time for a buyer...

I got an incredible deal on mine, which has put me off going for a V6.

I did't reliase at the time it had been maintained by monkeys before me, but still a good price, for the 2.7 K i also got a new cambelt fitted (althoug i suspect it was just the belt, i'll do a full change myself next year), had the air-con regased, and the radio replaced due to a lost code.

Age is not important when it comes to buying a car on the omega price range, If this MV6 is genuinely low milleage and has had for example one owner that took care of her then i wouldn't hesitate paying 2.5k for it rather than buying and ex fllet car that is w reg facelift and has been covered by all the salt of the world and ragged about.
