Hi guys

just got a vectra C estate 55 reg the revised model. the 1.9 cdti auto 150

when you turn on the heater on cold at about 2/3 speed you smell exhaust fumes quite strongly in the car, could this be a leaking manifold, any suggestions please.

We have only juts got the car so can quite easily send it back to the dealers etc car does seem a bit lumpy some times on tick over too but not all the time, runs well when moving does not smoke etc

any ideas please

Might well be a leak at the front end of the exhaust. You certainly shouldn't be getting exhaust fumes in the cabin, so worth investigating.

Any fault codes......DPF sensor pipe split is a favourite.

As for hesitant, cleaning the EGR valve needs to be considered a service item

Might keep the dogs quiet though....

Strangely. I've just had that Dpf sensor code. Came on with a tank of BP. And has gone now its back on shell. Has just done a regen too.   Regens do make the car a little rougher and smellier so could it just be that?

not quite sure what all that meant but we filled the car up with shell when we first got it

Take it back, and swap it for a petrol one but not the 2.2

EGRs clog easily, eventually blocking the inlet manifold and buggering up the variable intake. Mileage is irrelevant for this problem

Worst car I ever bought was one of those. Year old, 10k on the clock, first complaint was the rough idling, Egr replaced, inlet manifold replaced, Ecu reprogrammed twice all no good. When I wrote it off at 32k, it was booked in for another inlet manifold. Incidentally that was a '55 plate facelift one as well

If you must have a diesel one, then get the 120, less complicated

the trafic i got by trading the movano with the seat problem.

well got the spray work approved and carried out at canterbury acciedent repair one of the problems was doors different colours, guess what they were still different colours they sprayed the other door and not both

so back it went again again. picked it up saturday guess what, doors still different colours, over spray everywhere and the back doors wont open, was going to loose the plot but the guy was half my size and very polite, so back it goes next week

after that little episode on we travelled to drop wifeys new car back to the garage so they could sort out the problems with it wanted to just get the money back but wifey wants to keep the car ffs, well its her car.

just waiting now for the insignia to go tits up. car brought on line basically agreed the deal over the phone, now call me stupid but i have not been asked for any deposit, no confirmation order, nothing. They have confirmed its going through the workshop for their PDI and will be ready this week to be advised. Basically i will turn up and if all is ok sign finance docs and hand over the miggy

I am not holding my breath, but i could be held over night in stoke on trent or driving home in the insignia. Yes unfortunatley i am going on my on thats why i am worried

Its really not safe for me to have anything to do with buying or doing a deal for a car or van come to think of it, maybe its the words DICK on my forehead

paul dont take any shite from them they need you .you dont need them .its not worth making youself poorly over it just tell them straight and they will conform or lose the sale

Im never putting that in again!
Not as bad as it ran on Esso, that was appalling.
The supermarkets are better,
But it behaves by the the best, and is considerably more economical on Shell.

Annoyingly the light is back on anyway, must have been a glitch...Will get under in the next day or 2 and see whats going on.  expecting a split in a small hard plastic pipe...

Interesting as my experience is different.

Supermarket and BP are so so (I find the supermarket stuff pretty junk).

Esso etc are good.

Might be a local issue Our Tescos had alot of contamination issues shortly after moving its forecourt...
