AR35 box
« on: 03 December 2009, 16:24:54 »

As I now find that I have an AR25 box fitted and have done 23000 miles in my chipped tractor, I would welcome any recommendations for reliable suppliers of recon boxes, as I would like to fit an AR35 before mine fails.

Cheers

No problem with that, but I would like an AR35 on standby, just in case. Several comments on here suggest that it should have only lasted a few miles! :-/

Thanks I just spotted that, hoping for one with lower mileage.

I paid 100 for one from Mutantcav, it's still sitting in the shed waiting for my AR25 to throw in the towel, as is my jpat gasket set ,but at 177k all is still good.
I'm reluctant to tamper with something that works.
Spare elite in the drive but without recaro leather.

23000 miles in a chipped 2.5 with an AR25 box.  :o
Mine didn't last 230 miles.

When my AR25 showed it's displeasure at having to cope with another 30bhp I was advised by one company that they could overhaul the box and upgrade it to cope with the chip. Maybe that's been done at some point. 23000 chipped miles from a standard AR25 is unbelievable.

I beleive there are some non standard / or just very strong AR25's out there...

Ive been driving a 3.0 estate with an AR25 for 4 years....whilst its had its issues, its hung in there.

That is a chipped and ported 3.0....and it spends another time near the red line  ::)

Its encouraging to hear that others have had the AR25's standing up fairly well. I guess it's the luck of the draw, and, touch wood, I've been lucky so far.

Having had the mig for ten years now, and still with only 93k, it should be good for a few more.

Cheers :y
