minging,minging,minging...if that was outside my back door i would..........use the front door ;D
i HATE THEM

Thats pretty much what I'm doing!  I'm even boycotting the tumble dryer in case I lose a limb on the way past....can see him waiting to pounce and drink my blood!

Had cured my phobia until this year, would appear I now need more work! :(

Superb idea, can you send me one!

No!  You're just being a tight arse!  Wouldn't be so keen if it was your train that required the leccy! :P :P
The one in his garage does ;D

Boys and their toys.......at least ours are battery powered!  ::) ::) ::)

If you want to keep Spiders from invading your house get some conkers and place them in the corners of the room.
failing that you could just throw them at the blighters when they leg it across the floor

..... Keep making their webs across the back door, rear garage door, alley way, and keep walking in to them getting covered in spiders web.........

How does a spider anchor its web miles away from the main web?  ??? ???
dunno, I assumed they jump? Have seen the small ones on a long thread blown by the wind, not the big ones...yet.

Their webs are massive, there's a pampas grass in our garden with a small tree about 1.5 meters away, with a huge web spanning the gap. Can't really see it during the day but when the sun moves round low it lights up silver. Beautiful.

bleh 'orrble things cant stand em at all! i barely go in the workshop cus theres just too much chance of being pulled in and killed by spiders. loads of the ones with tiny bodys and long legs around the house though, i dont mind them so much and if they are killing other spiders they can stay. otherwise its a size 11 hit with enough force to snap a floorboard  ;D
dont see many of the OPs type spider here tho tbh

Great pics Jimbob!!  :y :y :y I wonder what species he is??  :-\

I had one like that outside my back door called Cedric...... He liked it when I dropped fly sized bits of ham fat onto his web and he got big very quickly   :)  Although Cedric might have been Cedrica.....  :-\

Is it really true that the female eats/kills the male after a leg-over?
[/highlight]

sure ive seen that common house spider i think her in doors is about 3 times the size of the male he has to beat a tune with his legs just to get close or she kills him then if he plays the right tune hung like a donkey and fit he can get one of his legs over then after all that just as he thinks I am in here think i will go for a second helping she kills the poor sod and eats him no fag afterwards no down the pub talking about sex with the boys ....bet he thinks as hes being killed bugger me its my first time ffs did not think i was that bad urghhh eat me bitch ;D ;D ;D
