No, I don't really NEED a new car, it's true, but it would be nice to have a change. The guys at work (all with Audis, Beemers, Mercs etc.) keep encouraging me to get a newer car lol.
My poor Mig has never been a lot of trouble either, a really good reliable car, I feel guilty for even thinking about changing it! I couldn't really keep 2 cars though, as I've only got 1 parking space where I live.
I'll dither for a while longer, no doubt........

Hi all. I joined as I've found this site to be really useful! I got the info about the crankshaft sensor / cutting out problem from here, and was able to point my garage in the right direction (they were quite impressed!). So a big thanks to you guys.
I have a 1998 black 3.0 Omega 24v Elite, have had it for just over 3 years, and before that I had a Carlton GSI 24v for over 3 years. Both black.
Next car probably will be a Lexus or Audi, sadly, Omegas not being made any more

If your aim is to get to 50 posts purely for selling your car, and I'm afraid I do query that unrealistic trade-in price you quoted, especially after reading your posting on the "AutoBarnStormer" thread, then none of us members, let alone the Administrators will be pleased.

Please also note my similar comment under the "AutobahnStormers" thread after your last, what I consider, to be a very revealing comment and seems to also support the previous observations on your Foxy name.
OK, this is now 3 bollockings, and I shall repeat that I didn't join to sell the Omega, and I object to being called a liar. I can forward you the email with the abysmal p/x offer on it if you want, it is perfectly genuine, and I thought it was an insult to my poor old Omega.
Now I know how my Omega feels, as I now feel the same way.

It's time for a change. I'm surrounded by the lads at work having flash cars, and I'm jealous!
The real reason is that my gearbox very occasionally slips (it's auto) and though the times are few and far between now, it can only get worse. I think it's losing a bit of transmission fluid too. It also has a small oil leak.
I've considered having the gearbox reconditioned, or buying a recon one, and even getting a new gearbox, but at the end of the day, it's not worth it for me to do, might as well move on.
I've been debating about it for a while now, considered Lexus GS300, GS430 even, Audi A4s and now Mercs. I'm almost certain that I'm going to go for the Merc (even though he insulted my poor mig). I can give you a link to have a look at it if you like? The Merc, I mean. Is that allowed?
If anyone's interested in making an offer, please PM me (I'm working on getting to 50 posts in the meantime!).

What gets me is that I'm paying several grand more for a car only a bit younger than mine and with less of a spec than mine has!!! Yet my poor old Omega is worth next to nowt. Not fair is it?
