Have read this site for the last year on and off and have learned a lot. Thanks to all who have posted queries and answers alike. thought I would join and hope to help out when i can. Looking forward to many an evening laughing, crying over grazed nuckles, drinking beer and spending money on the money pit!

Say hi and lets see what happens.

Thanks, still getting used to this forum and it's in's and out's software wise having just joined.  I have read many an interesting and informative thread on here and hope to pay that back in time.

I bought my omega in December 2006. Off a friend who had bought it from a dealer only a month before. All was well for a month or two. I won't bore you with the minor problems in here, will post in the main forum. But I think it is a great car, powerful, comfy, solid as a rock, (like my bike an FJ1200 - just ask). But it is turning out to be a bit more expensive than either a superbike, or my previous car.

So here i am, looking for solutions to the constant annoying problems (and main stealer prices) but also to help anyone else if i can with solutions, no matter how small if I can.

I have always done my own maintenance on cars (except welding) but at 47 now find myself totally out of my depth with the modern electro mobile. My bike is pretty simple, 4 cylinders , air cooled, and goes forever (it's a yamaha). The Omega is a different proposition, and the Haynes manuel is out of Fawlty towers.

Love the car, it is the best thing i have ever driven, so hope the annoying glitches can be solved eventually.

Thanks again for the hello, and sorry for ranting a bit. Look forward to chatting and helping out when i can.

Mark

Howdoo Mark, and welcome to OOF.

I am a tad biased, but I think your choice of transport is absolutely spot on....

I also have an FJ1200 3CV and, without doubt, can surprise more than a few modern street heroes if the full torque they can produce is put to best use....

The Omega is a complex car compared to the FJ but, be assured, there is a wealth of knowledge on here that even Doc Hacker at the FJ Owners Club would be envious of, relativelt speaking...

Enjoy, and stay safe....

Thanks all.

Hotel21, my mines a 3CV too - 1989 in white/champagne with 42k on the clock. Know what you mean about the torque - amazing. I originally bought one new in 1988 but that got written off 2.5 years ago by someone pulling out acroos me on a cold dark night.  I was a member of the FJOC until last year - forgot to renew my membership - must re-join. Ride safe.
