General Car Chat / Toad AI606 installation
« on: 24 October 2016, 11:43:24 »
Since my little boy is 21 today, he ordered (me and the missus paid) for one of these from Motorguard for 117 quid which i'm happy with.
Agreement was that when the box of tricks was paid for and signed for, the schematics for his Corsa C cdti and the installation instructions would be sent via email.
Problem is, he can't seem to send a pdf to the lads email address  ::)

Has anybody out in OOF land got the installation / programming sheet and also the 54 plate wiring diagrams for a corsa c cdti handy ?

The modern face of politics eh  ::)

First he thinks he is UKIP  ;)
Then he wants to be a Tory  ::)
Then he has a change of heart and decides he is UKIP after all  ::)
UKIP all pop over to Maastricht for a  :-X clear the air meeting  ::)

A few doses of home truths are given to the honourable Mr Woolfe by Hull lad Mike Hookem.
Woolfe spits his dummy out, removes coat and offers the Hull lad outside  ::)
2 depart to corridor alone, scuffle/ dry slap, jackets back on, re enter the room with all done and dusted  8) :y
Later on, Lancs homo has a wobble n stumbles, head butting floor when he should have used that tactic earlier against Hull thug.
Milks it for all its worth from his hospital bed while taking selfies with any poor bugger he can get to come near him then cry's like a baby to anybody in the media who will listen to his bleating  ::)

Now allegedly after some Cctv of the incident has come to light of what really happened, he decides he doesn't want to play UKIP because they are crap anyway and off he trots  ::) ;D ;D

Worra Puff  :P ;D ;D ;D

Bit of a strange one this ............

About 17:30 last Wednesday while driving home from a nice little job, I had a little exchange of views with a scooter rider while creeping forward in stop start traffic.
I saw Mr Scooter rider weaving in and out of traffic through my rear view mirror.
One minute, he was in the nearside cycle lane, the next he was sat on my and probably others rear corner blind spot and imho, was riding like a complete cock  :-X
Eventually, Mr Cock managed to pull past me and plonked his hairdryer about 5 foot in front of my car.

So there we all was, staring through the windscreen, sat in traffic and pissed off with the commute home when Mr Cock starts pulling faces at me and looking at the back end of his nice 16 plate scooter.
Well I looked over the bonnet and they must have been a good 5 or 6 foot separation there so I ignored him and got on with my life   ::)

The traffic was stop / start and every time I got anywhere near his scooter, the face pulling started  ::)
Eventually, I got a little pissed off and wound the window down and (politely for me) ask him what his problem is ?  Well out came his dummy and he had little rant complete with arm waving about how close I was to his hairdryer  ::)
Well personally, I don't think 5 or 6 foot (I could see the bottom of his back wheel from the drivers seat) is too close so with engine off and handbrake applied, I jumped out and walked over the hairdryer rider.
Straight away, he was in my face telling me that he was a police officer and I was committing a offence by been too close to his bike and if I didn't back off, his was going to "nick" me  >:( >:(
Well I managed not to t@at him or laugh and politely asked him if I could see his warrant card. He refused to show me it and again threatened me with "getting nicked" if I went near his bike ::)

Well by this time, the traffic was crawling again so I jumped back in and followed him for a few hundred yards keeping to about a cars length wile moving and about the same 5 or 6 foot distance when stopped.
As we was stopped at some traffic lights which I know would be on red for a few minutes, I jumped out and again politely asked him if I could see his warrant card.
Well this time, I was threatened with arrest because I was threatening him  ::) ;D so I walked back to my car and we parted ways and the road junction.

To be honest, I had forgotten all about the nob but last night I saw him again along side my car at the same traffic lights.
Me been me, down came the window and I introduced myself again and again asked him why he refused to show me his card  ;)
Well this time he told me that he didn't have to show me his card and then he told me he had my registration number and if I harassed him anymore, he would "do" me  >:( >:(
As he said that, he rode off into the sunset on his hairdryer  ;D

Well 3 questions really ...........

I don't think he is plod so thought of popping into the local station and having a word but at the end of the day, its my word against his  :( Is it worth it ?
What would our plod / ex plod think is a safe distance to follow / stop behind in traffic  :-\
Also I find it hard to believe that he doesn't have to show me his card  :-\

As for the threat of "he has my registration number", I also have his  ;) ;)

Eibach springs fitted to a facelift estate ?

Need a measurement from the top of the tow bar ball to the ground if possible please  :-\

No point pishing about with a tape measure on my Mv6 and taking away 15mm because my springs have done 150K and will have stretched / sagged out of proportion  :(

Trying to work out if I can still pull the pikey van with Eibach lowering springs  :-\

General Car Chat / Rear parking sensors
« on: 27 September 2016, 15:38:08 »
Mini Me can't reverse park a friggin tiny little Corsa  ::) :-[ :-X

Would a Omega kit work okay ?

By my reckoning, its only the sensor wires, a 12 volt permanent feed, a switched 12 volt supply from the reversing circuit and a ground to the chassis somewhere  :-\

If it will work, anybody got one for sale ?

General Discussion Area / Ad blocking on IOS
« on: 14 September 2016, 15:32:20 »
Treat myself to a iPhone 5SE a few weeks ago and absolutely love it (in a non sexual way of course  :D)

Only problem is, the local newspaper site uses "Taboola" for friggin pop up adverts and surveys on nearly every page which mean the site is Nye on impossible to use without a big risk of me trying to embed the phone in a wall.

Is they or does anybody on here use a Ad Blocker which will filter out most or even all of this shite ?

Omega General Help / Metal oil filter housing
« on: 26 August 2016, 11:37:17 »
Trying to do a oil change before I invade Skegness next week and the oil filter metal housing is just starting to spin.

If I carry on turning, will it lock up so I can remove the filter ?

Looked at jamming it with a screwdriver as a last resort but don't want to end up replacing the crank sensor too.

Any idea's ?

Omega General Help / Won't run on petrol
« on: 19 August 2016, 11:15:37 »
Morning peeps  ;D
Just got home from sunny stoke and could do with a few pointers on this little problem for when I get out of bed  ::)

Car started the week running great as normal.
A few evenings back, it became a right pain in the arse to start on petrol.
The car had been sat facing the sun all day. To get to work, I had to force it to start on LPG  :(

Eventually, it totally failed to start on petrol so out I jumped and had a good sniff of the exhaust hoping to smell petrol but to no avail  :(
Laid on my back and punched 10 barrels of shite out of the tank and it fired on petrol so drove for about 15 miles on petrol then switched to gas with no problem.
Tried to switch back to petrol and it immediately died  >:(
That was the last time it ran on petrol.
I did notice that the pump doesn't seem to be pressurising the fuel system when the key is first turned to position 2 now either  :(

Anybody had this before ?

Any pointers on this welcome  :)
