Just got all the right tools, decent breaker bar, brake bleed kit.... and the feker just rips on me....

Really needed to get them off today too, as the brakes feel like crap.

On the upside i have the key code number, and getting a replacement ordered, still going to be a few days though

i was fully intending to a while back, but i lost the normal bolts, but found them again today, was going to swap them over.

Btw, just popping to Banbury, that bathroom sealant has turned to stone, i need some fresh stuff. Also put a screw driver in that hole (ooo err) and i can see the carpet moving when i push though

suspected these myself. Cadburys made i beleive? and all too easy to get them on not square. Add in the odd over enthusiastic windy gun from a pikey tyre fitter and i'm suprised we dont see more like this.

And the 3 prong are better? My 3 prong key suffered at the hands of a tyre fitter & his windy gun and so far .........  I haven't had problems with the Vx cake cutter - even with MY windy gun    I do find that the cake cutter type are more likely to disengage when used with a normal wheel socket & breaker bar.

I don't rate the three pin ones at all. Had to have a wheel ground off on the day I set off on holiday after the pins sheered off in the careful hands of Mr Qikfitt.

I was so mad that I wrote to vauxhall about how rubbish they are. they didn't even bother replying.

Since then the only person that ever puts or takes my locking wheel nuts off is ME.

At least the '3 pin' bolts are relatively easy to remove. The spinning collar is only thin & is easily cut through with a slim chisel without damaging the rim. You just need a clicky to get the bolts out!
