In May of this year I was offered a temporary job in a local Ford dealership which was supposed to last 2 months. The first month I did my job and kept my head down but once I settled in I started helping the goods in lads and serving in the parts section when it was quiet, something the other drivers wouldn't dream of doing. I think the boss could see I wanted to work and he's done his best to keep me there, renewing my contract on a monthly basis. Anyway today I got called up to the office and he told me that I had a permanent job with them from the end of this month. I will still be driving but i've asked if they will teach me to use the parts systems so I can answer the phones to the customers as well, another string to the bow just incase

Needless to say, i'm over the moon plus I get Ford, Vauxhall, MG/Rover, Land Rover, Jaguar, Citroen and Peugeot parts and consumables at cost price, which is nice

I was unemployed for quite a while and I applied for 100s of jobs but rarely got a reply which I was supprised about given my experiance but I put it down to my age. The job I have now isn't the best paid but I cover over 1000 miles a week from Chester down to Welshpool and across to Market Drayton so there's some beautiful countryside, it's job and jack so can be home for 4pm and I can take the van home so no need for a car but best of all there's no pressure

It's the first one, I took a gamble and phoned and said I couldn't make the the 2nd interview, luckily it paid off
