Very oddly, the renewal came through for the Monaro, £328.
When I told them I had changed the reg plate to a private one, it went down £41

By the time I get to that stage they'll probably be routinely euthanising people of a 'certain age' so I won't have to worry about my car insurance.  :-\  ::)  ;D

No but our shiny new progressive Labour Govt will bring it in, and by the time I get to a certain age they'll be offering euthanasia as a cure for the common cold or anything that makes you a mild inconvenience.  :)

In the film Logan's run the cut of point for 'termination' was 30 years. Although you did get the chance to bone Jenny Agutter first if luck was on your side. :)

Just had to renew Household insurance..

Tesco wanted £350 to renew up by 50% :o,, so with a bit of confusion.com, it cost £160,, and a free £20.00 Halfords voucher and a free coffee ever month.

Phoned Tesco to cancel, didn't even try to ask why, or offer a different price.

Sought after classic Vauxhall due on 9th June.

The Mexican coupe due on 15th June.

I'm hoping I can insure the pair for  less than £500 if I shop around.

Roughly £730 for the Signum when taken in 12 monthly payments, and £600 due for second year road tax for the Bavarian.....If memory serves the first year was around £1400. :-\

Have you tried the multi car route.  I used Admiral years ago and found it kept getting cheaper depending on who picked the phones up (Get the timeing right when the Canadians pick the phone  and if its a bloke start talking cars/pickups and for some reason the price drops)  ::) :y :y

I have looked, Skruntie.

It doesn't seem to be cheaper with just 2 cars. However, if I owned 200 cars like Jay Leno it would probably work out less expensive.

I wonder if he'd like a Marina for his collection?  ???   I know where there's a nice looking coupe finished in Royal Blue for sale.  :)

I don't think it's the desirable 1800TC version though.  :-\                                                  ;D

I've often thought that Jay Leno would be a good bloke to have a pint with.

I wonder what the topic of conversation would be ::)

I know, pick a car make, but lets sit in one while we chat. :y

Try Direct Line they said.

Not on comparison sites they said.

Often cheaper they said.

I can now see why Direct Line are not willing to compete with Confused and the Meerkats. They'd be so far down the page that nobody would ever find them. :D

Meerkats....... £402
Confused.......£411
Direct line......£1356... ;D

I just renewed my Omega insurance
over half an hour on the phone to get my old insurer to match "like for like" comparison site covers .
I told them NOT to retain the payment card details for next year and don't bother auto renewing  >:(
over £100 more they wanted than other insurers  ::)
they matched the "like for like" comparison price in the end

Zenith - Aviva Zero - Swinton are the top 3 for renewal.  £4 difference between them.  Aill in the £195 + range.

Anyone had any issues with any of them?

Used Zenith to good effect have a work pension with Aviva, but not exactly relevant. Avoid Swinton like the plague unless you want to be inundated with spam... Oh wait... >:D

This is fun.  No communication, no mention of price, got an email from last years insurance company saying my Insurance has just been renewed.

Had this when I was in hospital a few years ago.  Admiral took £750 from my bank for what ended up being £200/250ish worth of Insurance.

I have allways stated to Inurance companies I do not want Auto Renewal.

Gonna be fun if they have taken money.

Roll on trying to get through to them on the phone ::)

Sorted.

They had taken £267 from my account regardless of me ticking a box not to take payments.

Tried to charge me a £25 cancelation fee.  but Zenith allthough set to start the policy from 19/5/24 started it when I paid on 18/5/24 and have just saved me £25 so cant complain. :y

Also they tried to compete with Zenith and the best they price managed was £257 :-X

Sought after classic Vauxhall due on 9th June.

The Mexican coupe due on 15th June.

I'm hoping I can insure the pair for  less than £500 if I shop around.

Both insured now.

M240i X-Drive............................£338.

Classic sought after Vauxhall which you are all jealous of >:D ........£134

Total...£472.

I had to 'shop around' more than usual though as it appears insurance has gone up by about 30% this year.

Just finished the insurance dance with all the comparison sites, for the Vivaro,
Biggest issue is I cannot carry 20+ years no claims over, so Vivaro locked in barn every night, sdp only, 2 named drivers cheapest £420, fully comp..

Hate to think what the multicar will be this year, with the Fat-arsed insignificant and the super Micra and a 17year old learner on the Micra :'(
