nope this is correct ! ar35 if its available - its in the 3 litres i think

Soz Mark....wasnt trying to loose you selling your box...infact if Mark has a good ar25 box id go for that....as you dont know what your buying from scrappies....they might offer you a refund or another if the box doesnt work.....but from what i can gather you dont want to changing the box more than once....its too much of a pain  ;)

If Mariec has an AR25, that would be good too. Just the Ar25's are harder to find in good order. You can be sure if Mark is selling it, it will be good.

AR25 will be fine with the 2.0 - not that much power to worry the box

Good afternoon guys. Sorry it's taken a while to reply. I had to go out and drink some of that mucky beer last night and its taken me this long to come round !! :-X

Thanks for all the help on this one. I am going to Portugal on my bike on Monday so wont have chance to try anything until I get back. I will have a look at the fluid situation first and hopefully that might have the desired effect. Not so sure I could tackle the changing of the box myself but my uncle is an ex RAF mechanic so I am sure we could change it between us. Failing that I will have to find a decent gearbox place near Halifax to do it for me.

I will let you all know how I get on when I'm back off my jollys. Right next job, sort the Busa out for my road trip.

See you soon. [smiley=vrolijk_1.gif] [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Hi Markie. I am in Elland which is between Halifax and Huddersfield. If you still have it when I get back and I find it needs one I will gladly take it off your hands.

Much apreciated.

Glad to hear you're going on the Suzuki - your Honda, though fun, might not be as comfy for that sort of ride.

Enjoy your trip :)

I use the Blade for track days cos it's not road legal. Looking forward to the trip on the Busa. Usualy go off round Europe every year. Looking forward to getting away from this bloody awfull weather we are having !! I will need a rest if i'm going to be tackling changing the gear box on the Omega  :(

Remember that the by-pass has a 50 limit! (aswell as THREE speed cameras!)

Hi Guys, it's been a while. Been to Portugal on the Busa and had a smashin time. Back to the gearbox problem now !!

Had the car to my local garage to get the Omega plugged in to see what was happening. By the way, since last time the car has started to run really badly like its on one cylinder and also chucks smoke from the back of the engine. Anyway they plugged her in and came up with the following codes which I thought might be helpful to others if i published them.

P0560     VOLTAGE MALFUNCTION - BATTERY WAS FLAT WHEN I RETURNED FROM HOLIDAY !
P0725     CRANK SENSOR
P0730     MECHANICAL GEARBOX FAULT
P1850     SHIFT SOLENOID ON GEARBOX

So it is the box thats had it. Well diagnosed Ronald. They said that the sensor will be making it run like crap and their is no point replacing it until I have the box sorted.

Made a call to my uncle who is more than happy to assist (more like me assisting him) in the replacement once I have one. So I will shortly be on the look out for an AR25 box once I have some pennies. If anyone hears of a good one thats available not too far away from Halifax then please shout me.

So there you have it. I will be making use of the guides on here to assist me in doing the box and hopefuly it will be a succesful operation.
