Windscreen problems
« on: 23 January 2008, 14:27:24 »

As well as the fiasco with the locking wheels nuts, and nasty vibrations I now have yet another problem with my omega  >:( I had a new windscreen fitted a couple of weeks back. Yesterday I noticed a nasty loud noise that sounded like the windscreen vibrating when I drove at 70mph or higher. Having a look round the screen in daylight I can see that the trim around the top of the windscreen is loose and I can't seem to push it back? I guess it needs to be bonded into place  :(

I'd be going back to the fitters for them to sort

Recently had a new screen fitted in my omega, and soon noticed the trim around the top became loose and flappy.  Called Autoscreens out again to sort it, and the fitter told me there's a design fault with the seal and it only fits properly as factory fit. Second fits for replacements never press in fully! He pumped mastic into both top corners then taped them down and told me not to drive it for 4 hours.  He may have been feeding me BS, but I'm 4 months down the line and no more problems.
