About NCDR and CID (both unpaired)

Hello, I have already an NCDR and CID from astra G.

They are both unpaired, but I can't get paired them using "My Naff Code Reader".

when I connect the system, all works ok but the display shows DISPLAY SAFE and RADIO SAFE blinking.

"My Naff Code Reader" doesnt work very well for programming

TheBoy has tech2. (as do a few others here...)

providing "My Naff Code Reader" has buggered em permanently he may be able to sort you out  :y

"My Naff Code Reader" makes a right hash of the pairing. Requires a genuine Tech II to do the job.

Bugger, a bit far for any of the 'local' tech 2's then.


Im not sure if that is ready for pairing, or locked, one of the experts in em should be able to confirm

Both those messages implies that one is unpaired and the other is paired.

Stay away from any programming with "My Naff Code Reader", it makes a right hash of things. Its a good code reader, and ok-ish live data reader. Don't use for anything else.  Sounds like it may have already made a mess of this.  Remember the pairing code you attempted to pair it with - someone with a tech2 **may** be able to recover it.

If you don't have any joy out there, I **may** be able to get them unpaired/repaired, but postage may by high (www.royalmail.com would return postage)

I know NCDR is unpaired, but I bought the CID and the guy said it was unpaired too!

I have another CID ... I thougth it was paired but i'm not sure ... when I connect this CID to unpaired NCDR, "RADIO SAFE" appears, blinking all the time, but never "display safe". Then .... this means I already had an unparied CID??? (I can't marry this old CID with "My Naff Code Reader")

Right, I cannot stress this enough, do NOT attempt NCDx/Display pairing with "My Naff Code Reader". "My Naff Code Reader" does and will make a mess of it, the likely outcome being that the components will be made a brick.

The combinations of Radio/Display safe are not always consistent.

Both Radio SAFE and Display SAFE alternating isn't usually good news, normally means both are paired, but not to each other.

Display SAFE normally means the display is not yet paired to radio, and also if neither is paired.

Radio SAFE normally means the display is paired, but stuck in an ID NOK Yet state.


Remember, all parts of the system - HU, CD Changer (even if part of the HU), Display and Telematics all have to be correctly configured and paired/depaired together.  I'll stress again, "My Naff Code Reader" CANNOT DO THIS PROPERLY

I discover there is a little microwire serial memory 93C56 instaled on CID. When I desolder it, and conect the whole system without the memory, the CID shows "DISPLAY program". I guess that this memory contains the "pairing" and the config (engine, wheels, CID language ...)

Maybe if I solder an empty 93c56, and take the CID to opel dealer, they could program and pair it to my unpaired NCDR...

ok ... I'm now comparing the content of the two CID memories, 2k to make some test.

Today I soldered the 93c56 of the CID KJ on the board of KH and the image appeared inverted ! strange ...

That might be a config issue, seem to remember that Astra ones and Omega ones are upside down to each other

KH is vectra B, KJ astra G/omega, but I think all them are placed in the same way, with the three contacts upside... it is why I do not understand what's happening

Hello again, I have discovered memory locations to reset to get the CID unpaired. I have compared the content of unpaired CID memory and paired CID memory.

"My Naff Code Reader" says "theft protection: delivery state" on both CID  :)

I'm planning to go tomorrow to opel dealer and try to pair with TECH2.
