i was driving down to thirsk last night at about mid night ( aberdeen to thirsk) and was talking to my mate and didnt notice the camera so i got flashed not good so im 20 drive a 2.5 v6 insurance will be fun :/:(

i was doing exactly 80 i thouight it was a 60 but my mate said it was a 70 so we will soon find out. but i thought it only flashed once.

If it only flashed once it means it's detected your speed but with no 2nd flash has'nt reported it. This is usually if you were only 2 or 3 mph over the speed limit. However if you were on a single carriageway road on said route, ie Berwick area that's a 60 limit. At 70 or 80 either it did flash twice & you're nicked or it flashed once & you got lucky.

When I got flashed twice a few years back, I was fortunate enough to have not received a "picture" asking me for the 60 quid...

Having said that, If you think you only got flashed the one time, the likelihood is you only got flashed once imo....

i went through the tyne tunnel and down that way if that helps with the area? i also stopped in the "GULF" services that i was so pissed off i wasshed my car ... dont ask lol
reason i went through the tyne tunnel was so i could hear my decat roar and that sounded good.

You might be very luck and it may have run out of film, it would still flash. Apparently, only 35% of the cameras round here are working at any one time. Anyone for Russian roulette?

was it rear facing camera or front? if its rear and grey/yellow camera, you maybe lucky and it could be out of film

Lots of cameras have no film in, so you may be ok, even if it did 'get you'

How does the 10% rule work with speed camera's

If it is a 70mph section then
70 + 10% = 77 - t+ the 2 or 3 mph they allow for different area;s take it to 79 or 80mph and this will be actual mph

then you say you were doing 80 and we know the cars to read 2-4 mph fast, so at worst your actual speed was 78mph you may not have got the second flash as runniw said.

if the limit is 60mph you have problems.  :-/

ok here we go.
  a noips has to be recived within 14 days of the offence.
   most cameras are set 5mph higher than the limit,depending what area you are in.
   if its a gatso. takes picture of the rear of the car.
   1 flash you may be ok as 2 photos are needed to work out the speed hence 2 flashes.
    gatsos do flash sometimes on there own twice as a automated self test.you can hope. http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/
