Yes I say Wood Burning Stove but I mean duel fuel really.
I wonder if cast stoves are prone to cracking?
Anyone who thinks that passing a cyclist with anything less than the legal limit of 1.5m should go to their local train station, wait for a train to approach on a pass-through without stopping, stand between the platform edge and the yellow and put their back to the oncoming train. Only then will you get a feel for how flippin terrifying a close pass can be.
I agree that cyclists not following rules should also be brought to book but lets keep in mind the severity of the offence. Riding on an empty crossing (not condoning it btw) is very minor compared to scaring the cr@p out of a cyclist by passing too close and potentially putting them in harm's way.
And I don't believe that 99% of cyclists are as you say. As I mentioned some while back an observation driving in London last year showed that the majority of red-light runners were (in both actual number and in terms of road user %) mostly cars, vans and lorries not cyclists. I make sure I am lit up like a Christmas tree day and night and I probably hurt people's sight with the brightness of my lights but I don't care.
At the end of the day it is up to you to drive in a defensive manner and treat other road users safely. Whether the other road user is law-abiding or not, if you kill or hurt them you risk paying the price if you too were not following the rules. If a cyclist is breaking the law and gets run over he pays with his/her life. So why not just wait a couple of seconds and pass a cyclist properly? Time spent waiting to overtake a cyclist is usually taken off the time you would have spent at the next light/queue anyway
where Waxoyl gets is bad reputation is people painting over rust with it, thinking it's some kind of rust-curer, rather than preventer ((event hough there are much better products about these days) You can find on many a classic car a lovely layer of old, dry waxoyl, which flakes off, to reveal a floorpan of rot, because the car's started to rust, someone has then 'helpfully' covered it with the waxoyl. All you're doing is covering up the bad bits, painting over the cracks.
It's all on a cost v miles thing. Do you want the car for another few years? If so, then worth spending the money. Even 'bodge' repairs will buy you a bit of time. But just painting over it won't do much/anything, and won't guarantee an MoT pass, either.
They're not rusty cars, and the rear sills and back arches seem the only real areas that 'go', keep on top of them and you're sitting pretty in bodywork terms.
Order replacements from Carz2 and get someone to cut off the old ones weld the new ones on for you.
If you want to thoroughly depress yourself take the front wheels off and start scrapping away at the lack of underseal around the chassis rail / engine tray mount reinforcement.
Don't do that, I did - mistake!
Do tell?

I'm going to pop the side skirts off the 2.2 this morning, what do we think I'll find?
IfI'mserek fitting to fit new clutch, possible new suspension & air-con rad to my trusty steed, I think I need to double check it's not rotten there.
Never had an advisory to rust before, but it's always been fairly rusty underneath and the bottom of the doors and arches are starting to go.
Is this what you are looking for. Ebay 331950577249
Complete with heat shield would be perfect.
Many thanks

Trying to do a oil change before I invade Skegness next week and the oil filter metal housing is just starting to spin.
If I carry on turning, will it lock up so I can remove the filter ?
Looked at jamming it with a screwdriver as a last resort but don't want to end up replacing the crank sensor too.
Any idea's ?
Hi guys, I have an '02 CDX Estate 2.6 – I was looking on eBay for a s/h replacement blower fan resistor ("hedgehog") and found a number of vendors selling brand new ones for around £20. Example here: http://preview.tinyurl.com/z4ynvvv
Has anyone had any experience of using these cheap ones or would it be better to get a known-working used one?
Thanks,
Chris
Had a look and can't find it at the moment but will keep looking
