Alarm (?) bleeps on switching off ignition.
« on: 23 September 2010, 10:49:03 »

Just started a few days ago. When I switch off the ignition after a run I hear the gentle 'buzzing' noise for about 3 or 4 seconds (which has always been there), but on odd occasions it is followed by 4 short, loud bleeps from what I imagine is the alarm.
Can anyone tell me what both these noises are please?
I drive a Y reg 2.6l (dbw) manual petrol estate, which as far as I am aware has had no modifications under the bonnet, (unless DLK left an undeclared trademark under there when he did my cambelt a while ago).  ::)
Many thanks,
Bill.

Thats the sign that your powersounder batteries are dying, its under the scuttle, drivers corner.

Remove it (replace if you want)
it can and will start sounding at random times, and can catch fire!

Bloody hell, James, that was quick! Many thanks.
No doubt explains 2 occasions where the alarm went off late evening, which I put down to a local tomcat jumping onto the bonnet from an adjacent wall on his nightly patrol of the area. (He does look about 3 stones in weight).
Suppose I'll have to apologise to him now!  :)
