Evenin all, just to let you all know that I have sorted my changer out. It was the fuse inside the changer, replaced it and now works fine.

Thanks for all the advise.

Is there a way to get the cartridge out without it being switched on?

Should be compatable

Good. Now next question

Why won't it switch on and why isn't it ejecting the cd magazine? What do I need to do to get it working?

Right have checked the fuse box under the steering wheel No 4 is for the CD changer, NO FUSE. The cable for the cd changer is all there from the changer and connected. The changer is phillips and the radio is phillips as well. The stero is the SC 804 CD and the changer is the DC012. Is the radio compatible with this cd changer?

Without knowing details of the equipment being fitted, I can only offer the following.

Not all Blaupunkt and Philips changers are cross compatable, so make sure you have the correct one for your head unit.

The head unit must be disconnected from the power whilst the changer is being connected and power must only be restored when everything is plugged in. This is so the head unit will recognise the changer when first booted up, if plugged in afterwards, it may not recognise it.

Its The vauxhall fit head unit and the cd changer, if thats any help.

Which changer is it? Blaupunkt or Phillips?

Not sure. I think it's the standard one fitted to the 3.0ltr Elite P reg 1997, if that helps.

This may sound a little obvious, but isn't the fuse on the back of the changer, it is on mine.

Have looked nothing there.

Not sure about the fuse... but you have checked the power supply is plugged in haven't you?

Haven't checked but will check. Was told it needed a fuse by the last owner.

Hi all,

I have a cd changer in the elite but is doesn't work at the moment, I was told it just needs the fuse putting in, BUT where is it? Is it under the steering wheel in the fuse box or else where?

Thanks in advance

I think you can fit 6x9's in the parcel shelve's but it might be better if you take the rear parcel shelf out and put them in the metal shelf and hide them!

Not sure which fuse it is but you will also need the main light switch with front fog on and AFAIR a relay as well.

I have the switch with f/fogs which works ok. I just need to get them working

Isn't there a relay in the main fuse panel?

I haven't looked. But there is no fuse or wiring going to the fuse box inside the car under the steering wheel, unless it's on another circuit. Looking at the wiring diagram in the hynes manual it just show's the wiring going from the fogs to the switch via the fuse box F16 20 amp fuse. All I want to do is get them wired up or working. Any help would be appreciated if anyone is a auto sparkie.
