Central locking and key question
« on: 26 May 2011, 16:23:21 »

This has been bothering me for a while now.

I have 2 keys to operate my Omega.
The old early round key for the doors. (I have to manually put this in the lock)
And a later Horse shoe type for the ignition barrel.

This was how I got it so I don't know what the hell happened.

The question is, I have several blank keys and fobs with a chip in. is there ANY way I can get these programmed so I can unlock the car remotely. I'm not bothered about needing a different key for the ignition. I'm just fed up of having to put the key in the door.

Thanks in advance

Yes, any of us with a Tech2 can pair them provided:

1) You have the car pass for the vehicle
2) The fob remotes are of the right type (there are several different types of transmitter).

Best to open up the working and "spare" fobs and see if the PCB is identical first.

You do need Tech 1 to prog new I.R. remote but security code is not needed IIR. Early Vectra B with seperate key fob remote could be programmed without code too.
