Hello all,

Finally trying to get my 2.5td elite sorted for mot and its decided to start playing up.

Basically it now has new diesel filter, glow plugs and inlet manifold gaskets.

After taking forever to get it going from where it was stored and cutting out on me and not starting again on the way home i investigated the lift pump to find that wasnt working.

took it out and home and found the terminals were so coked up power wasnt making it to the pump. Cleaned it all up, checked and refitted, car started in under a minuite! Result!

Even cleaned up the ic and fan at the weekend and checked it was all ok.

go out this morning though, gave it 2 glows, hear the lift pump working, go to crank it and it doesnt want to know! Threatens to start but wont catch.

I was going to service the injectors this week as they clack a bit when warm, but i cant see them causing this fault after its been find on the past few occasions.

Any ideas?

Right, thought Id start a new thread on this before I  and scrap the thing!

I have read that people have fitted facet pumps to replace the lift pumps in the tank with great success (also helps with veg oil) and wondered if anyone on here has done it?

To get the car home, I intend to borrow the leccy pump of my old landy and run it direct, but long term will get a facet pump, replace the lift nonesense with some weighted pipe and leave the standard return...

Maybe even get the pump running full time on its own power (I hear its ecu controlled?)

Thoughts?

of the omega, namley the V8 version... are the diff and driveshafts the same as on the MV6's or are they beefier? Just wondering as Im considering putting my chevy V8 into my megs to use as my comp car for drifting next year

Omega General Help / temp gauge sender location and ecu light, 2.0 16v

After a friend that owed me a favour put back together my other other omega estate (2.0 16v) after its new headgasket, it runs up ok but wont register temp on the dash or cut the fan in. I have replaced the bit one that goes in the rad. Id there another somewhere? Also, how can I rid/work out the engine managment light? The paperclip trick?

Will fitting my spare MV6 lowering springs to my TD elite wagon confuse the self levellers on the back? If so, is there a way around it?

Been a while since one of my random questions!

Will the tourque converter from a 3.2 mv6 fit a 2.5td?

Failing that is there a manual conversion for a 2.5td kicking about somewhere?

Bit of a random one really...

I need the ancilleries fitting/finish swapping onto my new 3.2 lump and fitting back in my special (with a new cambelt). Its all a bit beyond me if im honest and really want the car back, up and working.

The other slight issue is money, although id happily like any quotes etc, I can offer another complete omega as payment if that where an option?

Open to suggestions

tuning one... I understand they are de-tuned for the boxes (?) AR35 now fitted, now need more power than a 1.9 passat

Hello again guys!

Right, while (still!) sorting my 3.2 I have stumbled across a gem, 1999 2.5td Elite estate, broken gearbox, problem is, I need her on the road tomorrow!

I know I am best to upgrade to the AR35 and I think I may have found one from a 2001 3.2

Question is, does it bolt straight up and do I need the torque converter or are they all the same?

Right… I have made a bit of a schoolboy error and need to fix/replace my engine… but I have a few questions if anyone can help? Mainly what are the differences between..

3.2 and 3.0… is it just bore or stroke as well? (I have a spare 3.0 bottom end)
3.2 MV6 and 3.2 from a Monterey etc… same bottom end just different heads for the MV bit?
That is more or less it for now as I need to explore my options

Omega General Help / Grrr! Getting silly now!

I know, I know, another question from me!  

This missfire, started as a code on the D/side cyls missing so inspected, cleaned up (bit of oil in there) and refitted... ok for 10mins then miss back (keeps cutting into 'safe' mode on the eml) Checked again and no oil etc, so last night changed those 3 plugs... no difference! And now all the plugs are claiming a missfire!

All I have done recently is the clutch, are you able to get the front and rear lambda plugs confused and would that cause this?

Seems ok after being warm and coaxed up to 4k rpm + but anything below that, throws a wobbler and the eml flashes.

Going mad now, any ideas?!

Right in my quest of curing miss-fire (plug wells still clean from the cleanup so could be the less than 2kmiles old plugs!) I discovered these two little randomers...

I assume one me be ex-plod spec, but any ideas?

Omega General Help / Few Q's, sparks, clutch and cats

OK, I still have the 0704 error, Clutch switch malfunction... Its a manual without cruise, so I cant see what or why?! (Any ideas?)

Easy one, Which bank are cyls, 1,3 & 5

And lastly, is there any way of getting the lambda plugs muddled underneath?
