Break Discs

Hi Guys , am going to have to change the front discs soon , was wondering if anyone has bought discs from AutoVaux?

Also any advice on other bits I will need besides Discs and pads . :y :y

Get a trade card via autobahnstormers ... then get the genuine disc/pads kit from vauxhall ... excellent stufff at a very good price..  :)

I did mine 2 weeks a go  :)

As Entwood says, Trade Club is best... did mine 6 month ago, I got a complete front discs and pads set for around £70 from my Vauxhall dealer.

Pattern brake discs end up being expensive in the long run as you'll more than likely end up replacing them again with proper GM discs.

If the old ones have not put the warning lights on .. ie .. the pads are not fully worn .. the sensors can be re-used easily, just take care removing them .. DON'T do what Mr Haynes says ... "pry them out with a small screwdriver" .. that will wreck them. Leave them in position and remove them with the old pads, then remove from old pads, withdraw cable carefully. Do the opposite on fitting .. insert cable, place in new pads .. then fit to carrier.   Works easily  :)

So how did you remove them without braking them?

Just realised we only have a disk change guide.

Anyone working / can do a full disk and pad change one?

AutoVaux ones are fine. I think they are OEM I have had no problems but I need some pads!!!!

The pads only on TC are very good value as I recall - not much over a tenner.

Will probably go the tradeclub route , better safe than sorry :'(

May have to leave it untill I move back to brighton though , am gonna be spending most of my time packing the house up , the brakes arent bad just on my 'to do' list!! :-/ :-/
