Omega General Help / complete coolent loss
« on: 06 June 2014, 08:43:07 »
Just got home and noticed  that my coolant  has dumped itself on the floor. It is running down  from just behind  the oil sump and a little further back on the underneath . I have tried to refill it  but even with the engine off  it is still  ending up on the floor. The HBV seems ok and dry to touch but should I be looking at the coolant bridge area , as I have read else where this could be where my problem is ????

One other quick thing, that I noticed was I had also left a trail of water from the direction that I had been driving .

Omega General Help / non starter
« on: 31 March 2014, 18:02:30 »
Help I'm at my wits end with this dam car. Last wk my car wounldn't start , so I had to call the AA out to it. they managed to get me going with a blast of easy start into the drivers side bagpipe and jumpstart. This kept me going for about 4/5 starts and then the  process would have to be redone. On the final call out to the AA the lad his own code reader P0043 , P0705 ,P0300 , P0302 ,P0304.

So far I have replaced the fuel pump and both relays and both sets of coil packs. and still the bloody thing wont start.

The other problem is I think the auto selector switch has a fault on it and needs cleaning but I don't have the confidence in my myself to do this job.

Any ideas on what I should be doing next to it ???

Omega General Help / Possible Radiator leak
« on: 13 June 2013, 13:44:25 »
Before I start changeing anything, I thought I would get some advice, on all the tell, tell signs of a knackered Rad ???
Ive  noticed that there is signs of coolant in the battery tray and it is wet, all down that side. ( battery side) It also seems to be intermitent, where as it will go days without a top up, but then you need to top it up after every trip on other days. I have also noticed that she will sometimes dump a load of coolant after Ive switched the engine  off  after being driven.

The temp is sitting around 85 to 90 and has'nt gone any higher than that and the fans seem to be kicking in after any sort of trip, once Ive stopped.

Is there also a guide and how to do this job, if that is what is needed?

Omega General Help / Battery light on still
« on: 08 July 2012, 13:55:32 »
Heres the story so far, the  Car wouldnt start the other morning, so out came the AA man with his jump leads and set me off on my way. During that journey just a short distance from work the Bat tery light comes on, but the car still keeps on going. Then I had very single warning light comes on that was every put on this earth and just managed to limp the last few yards home with it.

I have so far replaced the Alternator  ( with a 2nd hand one ) and a brand new battery, but still cant get rid of this battery light . My thinking is, could The Aux belt not be thight enough  and causing this altanator  not to working  properly and  Can the car still run without this belt ??? (  if snapped  ) as  so far I havent had any other lights on over the past two trips to work and back ( round trip of 23 miles altogether )

Omega General Help / Changing drivers solenoid
« on: 24 November 2011, 23:05:50 »
Some of you may remember that I had this problem with this door  last year and was told it could be the soleniod  but I needed to put a new car  battery on the car as she let me down one morning. But after changeing that  the  drivers door was opening and closeing as it should be until now that is. Since the very damp weather  conditions  have come in it has stopped working again.  All the other doors and boot lid open fine except the the drivers door which Im using the key on to lock and unlock .

I have a 2nd hand one on the way from one of the breakers on here  and was wandering if anybody could  point us in the right direction as to a guide on how to do the job  and also watch out for any pitfalls that I  may come Accross in the changeover
