Technicalities aside, it shows very poor roadcraft to overtake on a road with side roads where there is traffic waiting to turn, IMHO.

I took driving lessons in a Marina. Thought it was great.

So did Sir Tigger. Oh, did you say driving lessons?  ;D

Yep took my test in my Dad's British Racing Green Marina pickup with no synchromesh between 2nd and 3rd gears, so had to double de clutch changing down!  :)

The examiner said to my driving instructor after my test that I thought I was driving a tractor.  ::)  ;D

He didn't know about the lack of synchromesh and passed me.  :y
I failed my first test in a Maestro... The first and last BL car I have ever driven.

My mate's 2.0 EFI one was fun, in an "I wonder which direction it'll go next time I hoof it?" kind of way, but I'm guessing it wasn't one of those...

Always fancied one of those...  8)

But with the driver involvement pack. Connecting that engine to a 1980's slushbox is heresy. :o

Presumably you mentioned to your new employer that you would be available after a one month notice period. It's not unreasonable that you await a firm, permanent offer in writing before triggering that, so if they are reasonable, they should accept if you politely decline the temporary filler job they've offered you with little notice, and accept that they are hiring someone with integrity who will honour the contract they have with their previous employer.

I guess you could have given written notice earlier and taken them at their word, but we're not there now.

4+1/2 litre, no roof, plenty of space for someone with big bones  ;D

Fella round here has one of those. Sounds awesome!  :y

Lighter than an Omega too. :y
Bore and stroke measured in furlongs. ;D

To your last point? Possibly now, but what happens when every other house wants to charge both cars?
Diesel generator.  ;D

Good point. At least you get to leave the nasty boat engine at home then. :y

You could always appeal the result of the MOT but for a couple of weeks' worth of tyre wear I'd suck it up and get them to quote for a couple of tyres.

..Or buy a couple of wheels at a scrappy and fit them in their car park. ;D

... This year it is 37 per bin ....

You can swap those two digits around and you'll be pretty close to how much it is here. >:(

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?

Took the newly rebuilt and now insured french contraption for a drive this morning and all was well.
Drove it to work this evening and engine bay as dry as a bone when I got here, so it looks like its back to full working order - for the moment.  ::)
Shall fill it with diesel tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.  :)
Just fill it a  third full, just in case. It might not last a full tank.  ;)

Speaking of the mighty clit......I once had a test drive in a clit 172 Cup that was great fun and properly quick. :y

2003 car in a fetching shade of blue. :y

A mate of mine had one. The wiring in the doors kept catching on fire. ;D

This looks like something Dastardly and Muttley would go round in!  :D

Or maybe Cruella de Vil?  :-\

My eyes hurt! Please make it stop. :o

Why not shove it on a sports dedicated channel rather than than take over the normal TV channels

Missing my Corrie ::) ::)

I was full of sympathy right until that bit.  ;D

Yeltsin did that ,but no one seemed bothered at the time. He was just an old pisshead. Not worth worrying about apparently.
Seems a bit short sighted now.  ::)

I seem to recall it was a good day when he could walk at all. ;D

I seem to remember they used to have a 24 hour race for them at Snetterton.
One year the winner completed almost 20 laps.  :D

.. and the others got bored and went to the pub. ;D

Best thing you can do with a "tin snail" is build one of these:

That video gets across what a truly hateful engine it is. My diesel generator is refined and free revving in comparison. ;D
