Xenon Light Failer :@
« on: 08 October 2010, 07:34:27 »

Turned on my head lights yesterday morning and get the 'headlight tail light check.'

Poo! my front offside headlight hasn't come on, it was a cold morning so I thought it must have been the cold.

A few attempts at turning the headlight switch to on and off solved the problem.  :question

Later on the same afternoon on the way home from work the same happens again (I drive with dipped headlights on).

So it looks like my second hand X police car ballast units have only lasted two years lol.

Anyone got any going cheap? :D

More likely to be the bulbs going soft and not striking.

Swap the bulbs or ballasts over first to see what it follows

Bulbs have a limited life - you may just have used it all up

I'd replace in pairs to keep the light output the same. Plus the other won't last much longer.

I believe Jimbob used some cheapies for the gay of E...

I can get hold of some good ones for around £25 about £40 with the ballast, not Phillips or Osram, but they're brilliant at night  :y
