What are the easy to find' and access locations of a switched live wire to take a feed from ?  Boot area preferred , but could be front of cabin.

The first question will be for what sort of load?

There is always one behind the radio...

When i neded a switched live in my MV6 for the DVD player in the boot i took it fron the rear heated seat switches.

Didn't have heated rear seat so bought the switches, dropped them in, then that way i could turn the DVD player off independantly to the head unit, mainly as i didn't need the player on all the time.

Only has power when ignition is on in 'engine running' position

Thanks Phil. That sounds promising.  So I assume you are saying that even though your car didn't have heated rear seats ( like mine )  the connector is still there for the switch. .......... Where do I  look for the connector. cheers

Look behind the center arm rest and you will see the cigarette lighter in a big plastic blank.

Pop this off and you should see two yellow (iirc) empty socket type things. Have a poke with a multi meter and one should come up live

Pop to Vxl dealer and buy the 2 switches and replacement plastic cover (or get one from a breaker Elite spec car). Drop these in, press the button and it will light up. No heated seats but a working switch. Ignition has to be on '2' or engine running before they will be 'live'

Well thats how it was in my MV6 anyway  ;D

Thanks Phil I tried again and it does in fact unclick  quite easily from two retaining clips at the top . I found the unused wiring for electric rear seat heating which makes an easy place to connect to when an ignition live is requied. The gig lighter in the back was on ignition live in my previous Omega but in this one they have changed it to permanent live . .......... Now on ignition live . Job  done  :y
