Climate bulbs.....maybe
« on: 20 December 2006, 08:29:25 »

Going to change the climate bulbs at the weekend
4 new ones supplied when I bought the car.

But not sure they are right

Ive got 4 x 9120630
according to the guide I need  90566032

Now are these the same parts? if not what have I got?

Cheers

I intend to do it all 5, but wasnt sure if the 4 I have are correct

I am replacing the stereo with an old mp3 playing one at the weekend anyway until I decide on a new one, so thought I would do these while I am at it, can do the remaining 1 when I change it again.

That is unless the 4 I have are wrong and I need all new ones anyway.

Out of interest where do the 5 go as there are 4 sections?  which gets 2? the fan speed lcd?

Cheers

Soz, don't have EPC here, so can't get part numbers.

P/N 9120630 is correct - 1.2W bulbs (black base)
P/N 90566032 is for 2W bulbs (green base) - they're used on some of the instrument panel warning lights and the MID backlight ...

from memory, there is 1 bulb for each LCD display and a two for the "light pipe" which illuminates the buttons.

Sounds like I am good to go, with just one bulb getting neglected for the moment, if it looks ok I will leave it, otherwise I will change it when I next do the stereo.

Reason I say change all of them, is that the bulb is old, and the manhandling involved may stress the filament so it blows anyway...

I agree, but I only have 4 bulbs, want the job done, and cant get to the dealers before xmas
as the stereo is in for 2 changes quite soon, one at the weekend, and one as soon as I choose what I want, I will do the last bulb as well.

I just got standard replacement lamps from my local autopart shop 1.2W, although be carefull as several people myself included have blown up the climate pcb after changing lamps. Be carefull that the lamp holder contacts only touch the correct tracks. They can be over screwed and touch an adjacent track.  Best to unplug the panel completly and visually check - it can save a lot of heartache.
