York meet dates... Whens best?
« on: 12 August 2009, 14:37:18 »

As posted on the other thread...

Right, just had a look at my available hols for another York meet.

When would be best?

Date range would be from 16/9/09 to 5/10/09. How many days would we like it to last? (I don’t mind if its 1 day, or 1 week! It’s an excuse for me to use my caravan again!!  ;D) I assume it ideally needs to include a weekend too?

Around the week end of 3rd & 4th October for me please, I'm working the week end either side ( & no it's not overtime, it's my shift!  ;))

edited cos I'd looked at the wrong year of my shift plan  :-?

ABS meet is at the pub, Fox and Hounds usually from 12 ish. Great carvery!
Be nice to see more cars there. First meet there we had the Manta boys turn up, but they don't come anymore - they've not enough horses methinks!!! :y

And this time, my 'Omega A 'will be there, as it will be on the road for the York car show on Knavesmire the weekend before.  :y

I know there not the best, but what facilities do you specifically need? If it’s the decider on you turning up, you may use the shower etc in my caravan!  ;D ;D ;D  :y

That is very good of you Ian, I don't mean it to be insult to you, personally think you did a great job organising it, marques etc.. but I would prefer nice loo's and showers just my opinion of course.
I am reading it that you will be doing another one in October this year, which the children are off from school for half term so we maybe going somewhere weather permitting.

I do know the facilities are crap mate, there’s no question about it!!! They are the biggest let down on the site unfortunately.

But at the same time, we have loads of space where we can do what we want (with in reason), for a reasonable price too. The owner is flexible too which is very handy when booking.

For both York meets, I provisionally booked the function room upstairs in the pavilion, in here the toilets are brilliant, and there’s mains plugs all over for charging phones / laptops etc etc. However both times this function wasn’t used as people preferred to be outside, myself included.

If I booked the function room, and we actually used it, the only facility which the site would be missing would be showers. And for a night or two, I can’t see them been a problem. But like I offered, if you or Little Miss Loo-knee wants a shower in privacy, you’re more than welcome to use the shower in my caravan (it’s a decent size too!)

Miss Vamps is the boss ::) ::) ::)  I have discussed this today with my Mum and Dad, Camper is no problem, it is the distance verses health problem. Would love to go, and it is hard to explain but too far from home for comfort.  Even with work I have an agreed maximum 100 mile traveling distance.  It's a long story :( So you guys enjoy yourself.... :y :y :y  There is always the late season York Meet, you could all come to that.....Miss Vamps was only talking about Miss LK today :D

Sorry peeps but found out today I can't do that date :'( but don't let that stop you.
Actually is is not me but Miss Vamps that is the problem, she found out today that she has been put forward for a Trampoline Competition that weekend in Ashington ::) ::) ::)
She was torn but we had to guide her towards the competition, sorry. :( :(

Completely understand... Health has to come first :y :y :y

I'm up in your direction this weekend actually... Mum lives in Richmond and we're up for the weekend

It would be nice but I can't make it, sorry, gues it depends on how many you need for a meet. Not many for York using the indoor facilities in the evening. Depends on the input of Ian and what numbers he feels he needs.  :y

Could always do other dates Vamps?

As for numbers, the more the better, but even if its only a few, it really doesn't matter too much.

Obviously, the more of us that are there, the more equipment I will bring... For example, I wont be setting up the massive tent if there’s only 3-4 members Going! as we can just use the caravan awning! Like wise with the big trailer, music, projector and genny etc.

End of the day, I don’t mind arranging anything at all. I’ve got a caravan now too, so I'm looking for excuses to use it, and this seems like the perfect excuse to me!  ;D  :P

I know i'm working on the Newent saturday, some others i may be free to attend if i can time off book in advance. I love the York meet although i appreciate the facilities are a little lacking for some...fair go but i'm a scruffy so & so!!!!
Given that i can't make Newent a York meet would be welcome so i hope we can sort something out. :y

She is most definitely a woman & gorgeous enough to turn the most devout bachelor, her good nature & demeanor,(never moans or gets moody) matches her looks & brings out the best in me..you all know my best & worst...!!! but we've never had a cross word in 15 years. She's just left me a voicemail  so Bye! 8-)

Disregarding my personal life, i'm still up for an autumn meet even if it's only me, Ian & Stuy, & Andy/Annette in caravans.
Given changes in work & other circumstances i'll need some notice.
Book a long weekend Ian. :y

Right guys, I've sort of forgot all about this!

Been doing 1001 jobs again, and hence haven’t been on here much last couple of weeks...

Anyway... I need dates! And I will need them ASAP to be honest! I’m up for a meet regardless of size, so when are you lot free? And I will sort it all!

1st weekend in Oct? Make it a long one too? Any good? I dunno - I will leave it up to you lot (Providing I can get time off work!)

Sadly you could be right mate. I don't feel the cold, still got windows open but it will be getting too cold for most folk at night now, unless they take thier bedding into the pavillion for the night?
I'd still be up for it providing i can give work notice. Missed Newent so woiuld like one more meet this year. :y
