This isn't a good start is it :'(

I guess I'm never going to get dates which everyone can make. Only other option is to cancel this and arrange another time? Would have to be another month though as rest of May is booked.  :(

Ok. Bit late tonight but over the next few days could everyone interested please give Ian an idea of whether you can or cannot make the w/e 1st to 4th of May? so we can possibly rebook for June. Bit gutted Jaimie & Entwood can't attend but equally worried some can't make June as we're encroaching on family holiday abroad time.
Let's give it a few days but don't hang about waiting for others to answer first please, get in there with dates & we'll have to go with the majority. It's Ians baby but i'm guessing if no June date fixed soon it'll stay on the May date.
Speak now or forever hold your.........?!!!! :-/

Just spoken to Ian & we've decided to leave things open 'til sunday evening to see whether folks prefer the booked time or later in june. Please only give firm dates you can or can't attend, it's too late for maybe's & we'll whittle it down & contact the site owner. No dates available later in May. If no firm date is agreed the meet will go ahead as booked although those unable to attend will be missed. Hopefully next year we'll organize things a little earlier, nobody can be free all the time.
Lastly despite my gob lately thanks to the admins & more established members who can't make the booked date. The fact that you wanted to attend means alot to us. Hope we can re book if not there's always next year & still Newent to look forward to.

Unfortunately I'm stuffed for that weekend... And any other this summer TBH... East Anglian meet took the only free weekend I had left through the summer, which is July.

I'm gutted I can't make it as it looks like a good do... But perhaps next year :y :y :y

I may pop up for a few hours if nothing else is booked but I wont commit to that until nearer the time :y :y

Hopefully I'll still be able to meet a lot of you at Newent later in the year :y :y

Or you could come down for the East Anglia meet if you're available ::) ::) ;) ;)

I know you guys have worked damned hard at getting this running .. but a lot of folks implied that the first week was out in the other thread ... all around posts 74 - 85 ish ... I'm guessing you were forced into this date by site availability   :(

Just my thoughts but a Bank Holiday ?? The wives and kids would want more than a car meet .. good as it would be.

Just my thoughts .. no criticism intended ...

As to dates ...

for me ... 8-10 May,  19-21 June, and maybe 26-28 June are all I have free .. :(  but whatever suits the majority will have to be ..

Entwood is the only one to give alternative dates so far, (cheers mate) anyone else want these dates speak now please. If enough we'll try & rebook. As agreed with Ian Sunday pm is the deadline for date change. Still time for a rethink but too much later will clash with the E. Anglian meet. :)

As Black Knight (Deep Purple fan?) said Rufforth is just west of York on the B1224. It's a bit late for me to phone Ian....shall i?? ;D so it would seem that the w'end 1st to the 4th of May stands. for hook up we need to be on the hard standing nearer the pavilion so not sure but one of us will let you know soon. I'll be going..& the beastie will be towing ;D ::) a van i haven't even bought yet but can live without hook up as showers etc. are inc. There will be some generators , barbies etc & caravan members last year did fine without hookup.
I'll try & talk to Ian tomorrow & one of us will post more info. Local shop open Sun morning & a cracking boot fair/market to walk off the previous night's excesses then back for brekky & hot drinks!!!

Hookups are available, but the costs will be more, and your caravan wont be on the 'oof' section! ;)

There will be 240v available anyways throughout the day and evenings - I will be taking batterys + inverters + genny with me!  :y
(PS: Anyone that has a car battery that works, and is spare, bring it  :P The more the better!) :y

Be aware, if you are running a lappy of a genny, the genny must have a decent regulator on it to even out the genny's power and stop spikes.

Plan was to use a 3kw inverter (hence the need for car batteries) for 240v, however the power still won’t be as smooth as 'proper' mains! I can then build a smaller generator which will charge up the car batteries! ;D (Will help keep the noise down too as the engine speed can be controlled by the power needed to charge the batteries - ie little load it will be ticking over, and at full load, it will be running at 3600rpm!) 8-)

Probably not worth the effort - I think every camper can live without leccy for a weekend, esp as there is leccy available inside for emergency phone charging etc.

Spoken to Ian & this meet is confirmed & site booked for the 1st to the 4th of May @ Rufforth playing fields on the B1224 just to the west of York off the ring road (A1237/A64) Prices start @ £10 per night but go down quickly as more folk join, last year cost me about £8 for the weekend so it's good value given the inclusive facilities. Caravans, children even doggies are welcome. There'll be a BBQ (if you can bring a few bits it would help) curry & rice...on me as has become OOF tradition :P
Full use of pavilion inc. kitchen, microwave, phone & lappy charging, showers etc. Hook up availiable but you will be on the hardstanding away from us.
Being a numpty i can't so could some one start a confirmed attendee list that others can add to please? As far as i know money can be paid on arrival. Work on cars is also fine.
Lastly sorry to those who are unable to attend but expressed an interest earlier. You will be missed & missing a cracking meet.

   Guy. :y

Yes mate. In the pavillion kitchen. You may need to be supervised though as you have to walk through the bar to get there!!!! :D

Not entirely sure but it's only a few quid a night, certainly cheap so no worries. It's block booked so the more attendees the cheaper, we split the cost between us last year. Think my share was £8, i gave Ian a tenner. Only stayed one night though but that should give you an idea.
PM Ian_D if you need a more precise answer but it won't break the bank!!! Very reasonable & a cracking meet! :y
