One sided heating.

Noticed recently that the drivers side of my Omega only blows cold air, while the other side and rear still have nice hot air.
Something to do with those little vacuum valve things down under the dash area ?  :-\

Sort of, blend flap probably come off the servo.  Behind the forward edge of centre console if memory serves.  Hopefully somebody will confirm location :)

Am I looking for a rod type thing thats become detached from its hole, or a vac pipe thats fallen off ?

It's a plastic lever ;)

It's also black which really helps... Close your eyes, and get stuck in as though your looking for the man in the row boat ;D

I can see the plastic lever, which has a hole inthat looks like a rod has popped out of it. Is that right ?
If it is, I have no idea where the rod has gone.

If it is, I have no idea where the rod has gone.
Just move the lever to the position in its range of movement that is opposite its current position and worry about reattaching it in the spring. :D

Mine has been cold only on the drivers side for a couple of years now.  A couple of mates have had a look for me  but I dont think they fancied tackleing it.

Passenger side but makes more sense than the drivers side guide... It's a mirror image anyways. And access is easier for getting an idea of what's what.

But it can be fixed at the roadside. In the dark. With no tools.

There's not much to see, so working blind is perhaps easier...

I have just had another look at this. Cant find anything to move to the hot position from the current cold.
Worse though, near the centre of the pics above there is some black / grey foam visible. This is wet and there is a smell of coolant.
I imagine its either one of the two pipes leaking or the matrix ?
If so, Im not sure this could cause heat on n/s and no heat on o/s.  :-\

New matrix required.

Strip the centre console and driver seat. Then the carpet and foam and leave to dry.

When you do the matrix the man in the boat will become obvious and you can sort him out too :y

You might want to pull the carpet sooner. That coolant will get a taste for the floor pan.

An update on this.
I have replaced the matrix and while I was there reattached the rod from the servo to the blend flap and was surprised to find nothing has changed. Still hot on pass side and cold on drivers side.
Any more ideas where to look please ?  :-\

Did the panel reset, but its still the same. Can see the rod opening / closing the flap when I adjust the temp up / down, so Im stumped.  :(

Forgot about this thread recently.  ::)

Anyway - yes DG I have tried the climate reset but still no joy.

To recap, I found the o/s rod from servo motor to flap had come out of its hole at the flap and reattached it. can see it move backwards / forwards when I adjust temp. up / down, but still no heat that side.
Have tried reset which made no difference. So now Im stuck for ideas.  :-\

I think postimg might be photos only, not video.

GayTube is probably the easiest, particularly if you already have a google account.

Had another look at this today. The rod / lever can be seen clearly in the later pics in the matrix change guide.

It moves as it should, but I have now found another flap at the bulkhead side, but higher up which has a similar hole on one end to connect to something.
Cant find anything to connect it to, and doesnt seem to be any way it could connect to the servo motor that the rod from the front flap connects to.
