If you think your day is going badly......
« on: 27 April 2009, 14:21:12 »

It could be much worse.....
Please spare a thought for my 7 year-old dog; Cody.
His health took a sudden turn for the worse and presently is having surgery for a cystoscopy, prostatectomy, enema and castration....`my poor dear-lad is very unwell. :'(

So sorry to hear this Debs, I know how much your dogs mean to you, they are your family.
One thing about Collies, they are a very hardy bunch, and I'm sure your dogs are all fit, so he should pull through ok.
Thinking of you....

Thanks for the kind support everyone.

I just heard from the surgeon:
Cody has to stay in the veterinary hospital overnight as he is still suffering after effects of anaesthesia too much to be able to come home tonight....the surgery went well and the diagnostic scans indicate that the illness was 'prostatic disease' and not a cancer, so the prognosis is now looking better for my dear-Cody.:y

I'm delighted to hear that things are looking brighter for Cody , and you too.
As I said on the last thread our Bengal cat lilly has just went through extensive surgery to remove a tumour on her neck and was in the Vet Hospital 65 miles away for four days .We were beside ourselves with worry and the house was a very empty place without her .
She is now home but suffering from extensive tissue removal along with the saliva gland , she also has an open drain in the 2.5 inch wound  and a coller to protect her from self inflicted damage.
Now we can only hope that she recovers and the next week will be crucial.
So when I say I am pleased that Cody is over the worst, I really mean it..... :y
Good Luck Debs .

Glad to hear he's on the mend ( minus a couple of crucial components  ::)  ).

And as for what mantagte said: "woooof woof wooooof"  .... tell Cody to ignore such rude language  :D ;)

Excellent news :y :y :y

Of course, Cody may disagree - poor boy looking towards the rewards of a good hard working life in the form of retirement, only to find he's had his 'manhood' pruned :o

We`re just home from the Vets.; Cody is VERY happy to be home......he even has blokey-bloke scars to show off to his mates (or anyone whom asks how he is!).....Painkillers and antibiotics for 10 days hence and back to the Vet. on Thursday for a check on his wounds and his 'plumbing'.
As well as having his insides messed-about with and his precious jewels 'half-inched' whilst he was asleep, the final indignity is that the poor-lad has to wear a comedy 'bucket' collar to prevent excess 'lickage'.......I haven`t laughed at his collar (of course) :-[
I`m just soooooo-relieved to have him home.
