One for AndyB...
« on: 09 November 2013, 19:35:10 »

Had suasages from the butcher with fried onions and beans...which was nice :)

Question is this... the beans were Heinz five bean ones, but what are the five beans?

I won't be awake all night worrying, but thought given Mr Bs employ, he might actually know the answer :y

I could read the tin, but that would require fishing it out of the bin, and where's the fun in that ::)

Heinz beans are too mushy for me, so we only buy them when you can get 6 tins for £1.

My family have this weird saying that I never really understood...

How many beans make 5?
2 beans
Half a bean
A bean and a half
And a bean.

I have absolutely no fraggin' idea what that is all about.  But its still 5 beanz ;D

Ah...I see you've been duped by the power of advertising, Mr admin man. ;D ;D

Heinz beans are no better than some of the cheaper brands, and certainly inferior to Branston and HP.

Hence the reason we only buy them when they're on special. :y :y.

We have about thirty tins at present.... :)

Heinz aren't the best beans. Supermarket own brands are the best. Whether that be tescos, morrisons etc

She's tried me on non Beanz beans, and is always shocked I can tell the difference. Branston and HP are tasteless, and Tesco beans are 'orrid.

Beanz or nothing.

Sorry .... only just seen the thread.

I could have told you red kidney bean, I've picked them out on the floor and a basic Heinz  haricot bean but that's it. You tend to not notice after a while  ::)

I'll try & find out what the difference is, because a HP bean is the same as a Heinz bean ...... just the sauce is different.  :y

That's is a very small part of the original warehouse next to the main factory. There is now a HUGE warehouse just next door which is apparently one that's in total darkness because the computer loads the pallets & it knows where they are without lighting.

In the next 20 years, repetitive jobs will have disappeared in the Western world with its high labour costs, robots that don't get paid an hourly rate, work only 8 hours, with lunch and coffee breaks stopping maximum productivity will be the norm. Falt

It is only one-off jobs, where it is more expensive to program the robot, one-to-one human interaction jobs and thinking jobs that will be done by humans.

That is one thing that I notice in the Ukraine where labour is cheap is how overmanned and inefficiently things are done compared to high-labour cost countries.

Younger people need to get the skills that can't be replaced by automation and robots or accept that they will have a life of leisure but will to be poor, sad but true.

Apparently (according to a tv program i watch a few months back) Baked beans on toast (wasnt brand specific) provide all the necessary vitamins and roughage you need on a daily basis....they concluded that beans on their own where slightly down on roughage.....but the toast made up for that.....so apparently you can have a healthy diet by eating beans on toast every day    :y

As long as you put butter/marg on the toast, yeah, you need fat to survive. Another programme said you could survive on potatoes with butter.

Some one obviously does, but it isn't Heinz. Apparently we used to make for one of the supermarkets years ago, but the only other name on our cans is HP ....... Heinz bought them out a while ago.
