On Master Vamps Citroen Saxo is missing, he topped up the oil on Tuesday

Now I would have thought running the car like this would be detrimental, but car seems to be running fine and not spewing oil out all over, which I thought it would have done.... :-/ :-/

I have told him to get another one asap, is this a problem?

my dad did that on an old astra once.....the engine was in a disgusting state, nowt a steam clean didnt fix, but was oil everywhere.

I guess there could be vacuum issues too, and breather system cant be working optimally.

I left the oil filler cap off on my Senator once ...... oil bloody everywhere!  :-?

Ditto on my MR2 .. I realised when the big puddle of oil on the exhaust heatshield started smoking in my rear view mirror

all depends where the filler is, on I4's or S6 in Senators, the filler is at the top of the cam cover so oil is bouncing around everywhere so its going to make a big mess.

If its got a filler tube coming up from the sump or lower down at an angle like V6, its not going to be as bad, so guessing on chavso its going to have a filler neck?

on the saxo there is a splash guard between the cam/valves and rocker cover

Did this on my MR2 Turbo, the engine ran terribly, and was hunting really badly, as already said due to vacuum issues i think!

A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage. A blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.

We all looked at each other, and another customer asked, "What is a seven-hundred-ten?"

She replied, "You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I lost it and need a new one. It had always been there."

The mechanic gave the blonde a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had the hood up and asked, "Is there a 710 on this car?"

Most modern engines have splash guards.

Wont be runnign at its best though as it will give a nice stonking great source of unmetered air via the breathers (if there not blocked)
