Best place to buy front wishbones??
« on: 29 August 2010, 10:44:58 »

Hello all - I replaced both front wishbones sometime last year, now I have soggy pulling steering again - garage says one of the wishbones is u/s already.
They were bought off ebay, can't remember who the seller was.
I've seen Vauxspares have these at £25.00 which seems reasonable, but is the quality OK?

Thanks...

I bought a pair from AllGerman about a month ago. Arrived a couple of days after I ordered them :y
Before I fitted them my car was hopping in and out of the lorry ruts on the motorway like a terrier chasing rabbits. I have driven 2000 miles since and the tramlining is almost totally cured.

I did set the camber to -1deg10' both sides (it had been -2deg and -2deg40') so that probably helped :)

Yes - my last ones were bought on ebay but they haven't lasted and my chances of any comeback are minimal...so my new policy is to look for recommendation if possible.....

Good evening Gents, just to thank those who have taken up the Bank holiday 10% discount offer and let you know that these will be despatched as soon as we get back to work tomorrow and all being well you should receive the day after. It does seem that the offer has been a success and I will try to get some other specials sorted for you. Probably Sachs springs and shock absorbers, and TRW brake discs, pads and calipers.
Thanks again for the positive feedback and messages on the forum/with orders : )

Well I too have just ordered a pair of Lemforder wishbones from All german carparts as recomended by Elite Pete.. they are more expensive than what I can get from my local car parts supplier but didn't fancy changing them again in a years time.. Would be good to know what they can do for front and rear shocks as i'll be changing them soon ( buying front ones next week)

Beleive Vauxhall themselves are quite good for shocks - have you got trade club access?

Yes I do have a trade club card and they are good with prices on shocks... if memory serves me right i'm sure they're £50 cheaper  for the front shocks and around £30 cheaper for rear because of having the card..

cool,

sure they knew its MV6 with lowered suspension?

worth a double check on ordering, may just be the website out of date (wont be the 1st time)

Guess you use deeside?  they are normally very helpful anyway.

Just had phone call from All German carparts and they say they've no more Lemforder wishbones in stock for around 1 month so take this into account people before you order from here... Not a problem I suppose as they did offer me an alternative brand but want to stick with whats recomended by you guys.. Now awaiting a call off them to see if they can beat Vauxalls for front and rear shocks..
