Filled it back up. 39.5 MPG from that tank.  Obviously the fuel computer reckons 41.5 mpg ;D

Had the exhaust system back from the cats replaced, and two new rear tyres fitted.

Should satisfy the MOT in February 24 :D ;)

Last week, my mate was driving it hard on the beach, and it landed awkwardly on a rock.  Hobbled it back to the cottage and replaced the broken wishbone, but now noticed the steering tie rod is also cracked :(

It might only be a toy car, but parts aren't much cheaper.  £30 for a tiny bit of aluminium, grrr ;D

I am being pushed hard by children and grandchildren to join them in RC bangers
I have had to buy the kit and have so far entered two events. Quite cheap as its not in the same league as your cars TB

I used to race them back in the day, both 1/10th electrics and 1/8th nitros, and helped run the club as part of a desire to pay back what I had benefitted from when I was still at school. Obviously, they meant I was doing less and less racing, and spending more time organising and setting stuff up, but it was a great community.

Ultimately, the ridiculous costs involved in staying competitive - I'd shag 2 or 3 battery packs every weekend, and pop a couple of motors every month - plus the fact I was always missing some of my heats, or lending my gear to juniors because they had broken theirs, made me step back a lot from the actual racing side.  The organising side was alwasy a blast, as we usually found a nice pub to do that ;D

It was during the first lockdown, I bought a Tamiya Hotshot, in a moment of nostalgia, as I had one in the 80s.  That get Mrs TB and I amused for several days as we built that up, and she did the painting and stickers.  Obviously I had to test it in the garden, and I sort of got the bug again.  No clubs near me, and my garden is too small to do anything fun, and the council "maintained" green spaces are too rough for small brushed electrics, so I got a brushless 6S Arrma Kraton.  What a blast that is. Its not overly controllable, but its a great basher.  Also bought a Arrma Typhon 6S, which is more of a buggy racer, and reacts just like the racers of old, only epically quick, even compared to the old Kyosho Burns that I used to run.

And the reduced effort and hassle means it was £50 well spent :)
