Everything is about greed now , we've been out for lunch no problem there at all , then thought we're not far from Rutland Water so we'll have a stroll round there it used to cost £2.00 to park for an unlimited time and you could use the same ticket in the various car parks surrounding the reservoir, it's now £2.00 per hour and the tickets are not transferable from car park to car park, two tiny ice creams £8.00 greedy bastards, last time I'll be going there.
Parking is outrageous really.  £4 for an ice cream is not far from the norm now for a whippy, especially if you have the flake.
.

No these were tiny cornets with one scoop of vanilla, two scoops would have been £4.95 so that equates to the cornet being £3.05 should have just had a pint on the way home instead, on the bright side the Toyota hybrid managed 77 mpg on the day out, and we had our first phone call on the phone system in it we've suddenly become up to  date at least it was a call with good news our pool in the villa is now finished after problems with the tiles 👍

But look at their costs before materials...

Bloke probably wants to earn above minimum wage
The van needs to be maintained, serviced and MOT'd
The fuel costs will be high keeping the freezers on all day, plus the freezers back at home/base
I suspect the venue insists on an expensive licence for him to sell there.
VAT and business taxes to pay

It's not just a £3 tub of ice cream from Morrisons and a pack of £2 cones....

Though I agree a single soft scoop in a cone, £4 is quite expensive.  Can't remember the last one I had, think it was up at Avon Dasset (near DTM's work), think that was £3 for 3 scoops in a tub, probably a couple of months back...

No van, it's an Anglian water shop/information centre I believe there's three in total dotted around the reservoir.

I had thought about a trip to Rutland Water. Not sure I'll bother now ;D.  Guess Grafton Water will be no different.

It's a lovely place to walk around  but why charge by the hour, alright I can afford it easily but there were lots of young families there £2.00 for the day would be more than enough.

Dogging again?

I had an employee up there doing reception testing one evening, he had a knock on the window asking what 'preferences' he had  ;D ;D

I thought I recognised your car ;D

Is it a dogging hotspot? Never been up at dusk, but imagine its a nice place to watch the sun go down....   ....if masked people aren't banging on the window!

Put SWMBOS private plate on her new motor, hopefully that is it for a few years now, she never wanted it on the MX5 I  bought her last year she simply didn't like it, I will never understand women..

Made an effort to fight off my serious case of CBA which has plagued me for months, and did a couple of minor jobs on the Boxster.
Nothing worth explianing, but hopefully will get back into the spannering groove now.

Read the handbook for the Toyota from cover to cover, brilliant technology but a lot of the things we will probably never use, reversing camera is excellent as I reverse this car into our garage makes it very simple indeed.

Could have done with one of those the other day due to an intransigent arsehole van driver. (See 'what has pissed you off' thread.)  :)
