« on: 16 August 2016, 11:32:35 »
Hi

I'm after a rear electric sun blind, either facelift or prefacelift (doesn't matter which) as long as it's working & not sticking

Cheers

As TheBoy and MDTM both know (from using their Tech2's), the diagnostics socket on the Elite is a bit dodgy.  Just wondering if its an easy job to replace it or repair it at all?  I need to be able to do some techy2 work before long when the engine goes in, so want to get it fixed before I do!

Cheers :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CD-SAFE (CCRT700)
« on: 18 September 2007, 10:40:05 »
Only me again...

Just replaced the battery on the Omega, I've put in the code for the Radio, so now that works, but I don't know how to enter the code for the CD Changer.

It was working fine before, but since doing the battery, when I press CD, it displays CD-SAFE on the GID.

I've not tried entering any codes yet (have the carpass here with the code on it) as I don't know how to do it??

I've tried:

Turning the Ignition on, but radio off, then holding the CD Button. (as per CCR800 instructions in the manual)

But there is nothing listed for the CCRT700 in my manual :(

Help!

Just wondering, the MID display on my CCRT700 sets its time and date automatically via the radio.  I can't make it do manual input at all.

Is it a Tech2 job to enable manual time input if there is an aftermarket radio or no radio fitted?  I've tried doing it with the CCRT removed, but it won't allow me to set the time...

Cheers :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / GID query...
« on: 26 October 2008, 00:05:03 »
Reading this guide (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1153215782) it says...

Quote
GID for CCRT support - Fitted to all the cars with CCRT radio sets, supports all the functions of the MID in a half height dot matrix display with some dedicated symbols to allow text etc from the phone function to be displayed, only fitted to mini facelift onwards and is coded to the radio unit via tech 2. Has a single grey connector

GID for Nav support - Facelift onwards only, a varient of the above with pretty much the same functions but, not interchangeable. Is a full dot matrix display to support pictgram nav functiosn etc. Has a single grey connector.

Now, is it not interchangeable due to the radio's, or just in general as a whole?? So say I jibbed off the current CCRT stereo, could I use the newer GID still just to display the various info's? (consumption, etc) or is that also not possible??

Also, when the CCRT is not hooked up, how can I go about setting the clock on the current GID?  As the 2 buttons at the top do bugger all when the radio is removed, and I know its updated via RDS when the radio is in place...

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / The VX towbar loom...
« on: 11 September 2008, 21:19:48 »
Am I right in thinking that it plugs into an existing plug behind the bumper, so no need to mess about with running any more cabling through the car?

Part number 90566379 (HARNESS ASSY, TRAILER COUPLING) is what I'm looking at here, but do I also need 90491573 (HARNESS ASSY, LICENCE PLATE LAMP) aswell?

Cheers

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Reseting facelift alarm...
« on: 04 August 2008, 11:20:08 »
Going on from the pre-facelift/facelift alarm adaptation...

If the alarm goes off, regardless of key in ignition, is it a case of reseting it / reading the codes woth Tech2 to see whats what??

I can't for the life of me stop this damned thing sounding, key in ignition, doesn't turn off, lights keep going.

The car has 'no' powersounder connected, that got jibbed off ages ago.

*note*

The alarm only started going off when I plugged it into the car 'before' i did the wiring changes.  I locked the car, unlocked it and then it started to go off.

Before I locked the car, all was silent.  Now, its always on the second its connected up, regardless of locking/unlocking the car.

Ultrasonics are *not* connected (not got them yet) so pins 5, 7 and 12 from the control module are not connected.

Just a quick question...

Both pre-facelift (mini) and facelift, they have a seperate ecu to control the central locking don't they??

Wondering what differences lie between the two, ie, are they inter-changeable so to get the 3-button fobs with boot release??  And also, any major differences with the loom for them??

Fitted a facelift boot to my elite earlier, everything works, even the boot release, but it pops the boot when the central locking is unlocked, so just wondering if its possible to retro-fit the new ecu to get seperate popping control, or if i'm best just hashing into the wiring and sorting something else out??

Cheers

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / S-AM and T-AM
« on: 17 July 2008, 21:27:48 »
I take it these aren't compatible then??

I've got an S-AM type control module here, but a T-AM type fob?? (says Type T-AM on the back), but there is no identifying marks on the fob pcb other than some numbers??

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Replacement ISO connectors...
« on: 08 March 2008, 21:33:59 »
Can ya get these??

The ones for the CCRT in mine have been properly butchered at somepoint, and dont secure into the new cage I got as the old one in the car has also been butchered!!

If not, guess its just a case of finding one in the scrappers, and then just splicing it onto the existing wiring??

There is not TrafficMaster either in the Elite, guessing it either never existed to begin with, or was removed at some point (The TM button was there when I bought it, but plugged into nothing)

I'm trying to find the aerial connections behind the passenger side kick panel, but I can't for the life of me see them.

All that is there is the large wiring harness for the main body electronics (and also the 6-pin plug for sat nav which is another reason I was checking) but I cant see the gray connector for the radio aerial, mainly the one for the phone aerial!

Am I looking in the right place??  I've had the carpet pulled back and the kickpanel off, but still can't see the wire...

Way back in 2006... when I had a Ford Scorpio... (given to me for free, had it 2 weeks, blew it up, sold it for £60)...  I joined up a treacherous site for some advice and such, and stumbled across these...

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/hlmod.htm
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlock.htm

Basically wondering if this would be possible to do on the Omega??

The headlight mod I can see being not a major issue...  But as for automatically locking the doors at a set speed...  I'm not too sure if the Omega outputs a compatible frequency in regards to the output from the VSS??

Meh I'm probably talking out of my jacksie anyways... But wouldn't mind giving both of these a try!

The numerical keypad on my CCRT700 has started to have a mind of its own.  Noticed tonight it comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off... The rest of the illumination on the radio is fine except for just the keypad...

Is it easy enough to replace the bulb inside the radio or am I best getting someone with knowhow to sort it for me (and then if they break it atleast I have some sort of comeback...)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCRT700 Mobile Phone puzzles...
« on: 14 September 2007, 09:52:28 »
I'm trying to get a SIM card to work in the CCRT700.  It's a new O2 PAYG SIM, I've put £10 on it, and its all activated according to O2.

The SIM has 24DTXTAN - Prepay Text Anytime 2G (4DM) on the back, so it's definately a GSM SIM and not 3G (also confirmed with O2)  They also said its a dual-band SIM, so will work in single band phones (GSM900 or GSM1800 only).

When the SIM is inserted into the radio, it just sits there saying searching... and then goes back to the radio/cd (whichever was playing)

I've also gone through the Menu system of the phone as follows>>

Menu -> Network -> Pref. List -> View List

No O2 or BT CELLNET UK Listed, just a bunch of foreign German/French channels

I then go to>>

Menu -> Network -> Pref. List -> Add Network -> Nets on Air

The radio then displays 'Network request', and after a few seconds, says 'No Network Available'

If I go into Known Nets, it lists 'UK CELLNET' so when I add it, it is then saved under the Preffered Lists, but still won't access the network.

I have an actual O2 phone (other SIM, dif. number) and I get signal with that where I'm parked (driveway) and same with my Orange contract phone, but the car phone just doesn't want to play ball.

Are there any fuses which relate to the phone aerial?  Also the aerial on the car isn't a regular 'stubby' but a tall aerial, like the standard radio one on the Corsa 'B'.  Would this make a difference at all??

Cheers

Paul
