Forsythe saga contined.

6 new plugs and fuel filter later..............................garage diagnostics showing 1/3/5 bank coil pack at fault !! Can`t really complain since she`s not cost me hardly any heartache or wallet ache much in the past 18 mths lol,

£120 + vat quote, can anyone beat this ?, ok I`ve seen a 1/3/5 bank coil pack for £25 on e-bay.

Blonde (ok more Richard Gere grey) moment question, replace one bank or both bearing in mind the car`s on e-bay as we speak.

Best price and place to get coil pack(s) for 2001 2,6 v6 estate ?, just had 6 new plugs and fuel filter and my baby still misfiring lol.
Diagnostics indicating plugs 1, 3 and 5 as the problem areas, is it worth just replacing the coil pack for this bank or doing both for peace of mind bearing in mind the car is currently on e-bay ?.

Unelected, bloated, self engrandising eurocrats paid way too much fat bastards with nothing much else to do than think up toss pot brain dead ideas and how next to scrounge more hard earned from us to piss us english off.

Surprised that DC and the libdebcon "association" are getting piss lousy poll numbers ? (not). Paper headlines spout off about £10 billion pound savings need to be made from everything and every organisation inc the NHS and what does tosser number 1 George Osborne do ? he ups and gives (loans ? ha ha) £10 billion to the IMF to prop up the dead economies of Spain Greece and to a lesser extent Ireland, lowers fat cat taxes and taxes pasties to make up the shortfall.

Out of touch with the UK voting public ? naahhhh these guys are so up their own asses they cant smell the coffee for the shit they spout every day.

Nick clodhoppers lib dems 1 point in front of UKIP ? what a blast !

Conservatives on 29% and labour on 40%, god help us.

Hi tunnie,
Fellow thyroid sufferer, just out of curiosity what dose of thyroxine are you on ?,
I`m on 250-300mg, varies every 6 mths after blood tests. Came "home" from working in the USA in oct` 07 at 16 st 8 lbs, had radio iodine pill treatment to zap my thyroid and am now, thx to a redundant metabolism touching 23 st !!
Vehicle "service" as far as I`m aware is limited to oil/coolant/filters, havent checked fuel filter to be honest since the "misfire" doesnt happen unless the circs I detailed come about, ie high revs/high speed.

Omega General Help / fuel starvation or.........?
« on: 29 April 2012, 09:42:12 »
Hi y`all, 2001, 2.6 Omega estate auto petrol, (moggie auto est #5). I usually fill up at Tesco, normal unleaded, once in a blue moon I`ll treat her to some super, but dont usually have probs.

All can be fine, tootle up/down the motorway, absent mindedly, (due to everything feeling so smooth n quiet) let speed drift up to 90 ish, mph not k`s, and engine management light comes on, very short space of time theres what feels like a stall happening, pull off, stop, turn engine off, count to 3, turn engine on and drive the rest of the day without a problem keeping speed down to 70-80.
Pedal test fault codes show "random misfire, bank 1 or bank 2 misfire" but it feels much more like fuel starvation at the quoted high-ish revs (30-3100) and fairly high speed.
On a couple of occasions, due to a mixture of being broke and/or miles away from a gas/petrol station as some of our motorways inconveniently dont have gas/petrol stations I`ve run the range down to the 15 mile mark, low fuel warning flashing/screaming "feed me, feed me" lol.
Could I have some kind of obvious blockage, ?, the eml and "stall" for want of better words has happened once before at town speeds but most usually happens at high speed/revs.
Would swapping out the fuel lines/filter help ?
The problem happens with various amounts of fuel in the tank from brimmed down to 25%, 100 mile range full.

Full exhaust was replaced less than a year ago for the MOT, mechanic didnt mention any probs with exhaust emissions tho I`m noticing some oil smoke on start up after she`s not been run/driven for a day or so but which goes away almost instantly.

Now I think more into this, given it`s looking like ignition linked, I`ve run the petrol tank down to less than 20 miles range a couple of times, (the car hasnt missed a beat up till the last 3 months of off-on use with being unemployed.
Could I have caused shit (pardon my french) to get into the fuel lines and this randomness be of my own doing ?
The more I think about it the more I think thats the problem. Duhhhh.

Ok guys, (betters).
Back again, sorry for the delay in responding.
I just checked the pedal test video and the following codes popped up. See below.
I also referenced the code panel and it`s seemingly random ignition probs plus cat efficiency dropping below threshold banks 1-2, (presumably as a knock-on effect of the ignition fault ?).
Codes are as follow, any help/pointers to a fix most welcome.
0 3 0 0   (Random multiple cylinder misfire).
0 3 0 3   (Cylinder #3 misfire detected)
0 3 0 5   (Cylinder #5 misfire detected)
0 4 2 0   (Catalyst system below threshold bank #1)
0 4 3 0   (Catalyst system below threshold bank #2)

Omega General Help / engine management light.

Hi ya`ll. (Omega auto, 2001 v6 2.6 cd estate).
Dont know if this has been covered.
"Problem" has ocurred a couple of times but generally comes/goes for weeks/months.
This latest series started after the car hadnt been used for a day or so, I drove around 15 miles from home to the M11 so engine was warm, (gauge showing just shy of 90 degrees), everything felt ok.
Going down the M11 ramp and accelerating, speedo touched 85 ish as I got on M11, cruised around 78-82 and within a mile the light kinda flickered then came on.
On slowing down and pulling over, (as I`m stopping it feeels as though she`s chugging/stalling is best way I can describe things), turning off the ignition and restarting more or less straight away the light went out and didnt come back on again till the other day when coming down M1 speedo drifted up to 90 and the light came on again. Ditto the shut down/fire up sequence but this time after a minute wait or so and keeping around 75-80 she cruises all day. Sweet as a nut.
Trip shows 85,500 miles, cam belt/water pump were changed as a precaution at 71,250 miles because the seller couldnt say if it had been done when I bought her approx 18 mths ago. Oil (semi synthetic) is clean and on the marks. No leaks etc, this one as well as my prior cdx 2.5 have been the best of the 5 I`ve owned.
I`ve glanced some of the other posts on this topic but dont know whether any apply to an intermittent fault like mine.
Could it be more engine/crank related given it only appears to happen at high speed ?, As above I`ve had her around 18 mths and this problem has only popped up in the last few months.
Any help/comments apreciated apart from the obvious "put my right foot on a diet" lol.

Omega General Help / engine warning light, after "chugging"
« on: 26 November 2011, 11:16:42 »
Hi Y`all, dont know if this has occured with others but here goes.
Leant my 2001 2.6 auto Omega estate to daughter in law about 5 weeks back, she mentioned that after some slow running, traffic queuing on her way to work etc that the engine sounded and felt like it was either misfiring or "chugging" but not every time nor all the time she drove it to work.
It`s happened a few times with me, short trip to tesco etc maybe 2 miles, barely warm and it`ll "chug", I`ll turn off the engine because the panels lit up, eml`s on etc, count to 10 and fire her up with no prob`s, no misafires chugs nothing.
What I have noticed is the temperature gauge isnt climbing as it used to, before these probs it would go 90 ish, maybe an indicated 95 degrees then the fans would cut in and bring it down. Now, the temps sticking on 86 approx`.
Obvious 1st thought is I need a new thermostat ?, I believe from my paperwork that a crank sensor was done a while back, the current mileage is 88k, cambelt was done at 72k. Ive done motorway mileage at fairly high speed (85-90 etc) with no probs and most everything is otherwise normal.
Any ideas ? No need to recommend Asda/Sainsburys/Waitrose lol

Omega General Help / mixed probs
« on: 06 November 2010, 21:11:37 »
love my 5th omega, will post pics when i figure how to,
two probs i`m sure ive seen reference to but have looked thru forums etc.
1, intermittent beeps after a drive, no lights on, no indicators etc, 3-4 beeps then quits, ???
2, alarm comes on like this morning, 4 times in an hour, bit damp with condensation running off the bodywork, key fob clicked twice after using her.
3, bonnet catch not realising the hook, can hear the mechanism bumping but not releasing, just a case of cable stretch ? last time the bonnet was up was about a month ago.
any help very much appreciated.
