Windscreen washers not working!!
« on: 20 February 2016, 15:48:43 »

Hey guys my 3.0 elite preface lift is giving me problems with the window washers!
Bought the car without checking them and didn't realise till I got the car home!
The car has both windscreen washers and headlight washers!
When I activate the window washers the motor is making normal noise! But nothing is coming out opened the bonnet and blew down the pipe! Doesn't appear to be any blockages, when I turn the lights on and activite window washers the headlight ones are working fine! But still nothing for the Windows :(
Any idea guys??

Filter in the tank may be blocked. Easy to clear. I'll post link shortly.

When you locate the screen wash pump, just pull it up and towards the car. It will then reveal the filter below which is a rubber grommet. Hopefully it's full of sludge and after cleaning it under a hose or a tap and putting it and then the pump back in place, you should have working screen wash jets. Good luck.

I would also wash the filter and tank out with some diluted bleach just to get rid of any nasty bacteria that can occur if it has been filled a few times without screen wash.

If pump working then it's filter blocked, pipes to washer jets squashed/kinked/holed or disconnected at some point or even just washer jets themselves blocked would be my way of going about it.Another thought the washer jets weren't just frozen up were they?I've known this to happen in the past on various cars.hth.

A sure sign of using very weak or no screen wash :).  Even in the summer, its worth putting a little in (eg, 1:25), as it prevents the growth of that white stuff :y
