Hello and welcome  :y

Have a look in Ice & Electrical. You will find this problem crops up often and is usually sorted by a member here, DaveDND.

Depending onn whhich system you have, its possible that the tape unit has a different coding  ::)  But Dave will be able to assist  :y

Hi Andy

Welcome to Omega World.

I also have exactly the same problem.

Previous member mentioned this but Dave_DND should be able to help. His site states:

Error Message "CDC SAFE"

One of the most common failures of this unit is the error message "CDC SAFE"

There is a common software fault where the normally uncoded integrated CD Changer will decide to ask for a code, and as there is no method for CD code entry on this model, the Changer will simply lock up and display the error message.

As a quick diagnosis, all Tuner and Cassette operations should function as normal. If the CD button is pressed with a CD inside, the error message of "CDC SAFE" will be displayed and if the eject button is pressed, the cartridge should eject without any problems.

This fixed price repair is for the software reprogramming of the CD Changer only, and if any other faults are found, or the unit has been tampered with, then we reserve the right to provide an estimate for any additional work that may be required. All work undertaken is covered by a 3 month return to base Warranty, and depending on workload we aim to turn this repair around within 48 hours.

When sending this unit to us, please remember to include your code number or an additional £20 if you want us to decode it at the same time."

Personally just waiting for the removal tool I have ordered to arrive so I can get mine out to send to him.

His website is http://www.dndservices.co.uk

Hope this helps

Gareth ;)
