MAF low signal
« on: 10 May 2011, 09:46:58 »

Hi all,

Had a few posts about my cars problems and I seem to be getting to the bottom of it , I hope !!

Had it on a diagnostic and cleared the faults. :y

MAF was showing a low voltage signal and when I increased the revs the co2 readings did not alter. I had replaced the MAF with a cheap version off ebay. The car was running sweet then after a while it dropped into safe mode and emmissions light returned, I expected this.

My question is, looking at previous answers to other peoples problems, do I trust the MAF fault and assume the new unit is faulty or is there somthing else I need to be looking at electrically. :-/

The cheap ebay MAF's are known to be unreliable.

I personally would only buy bosch for a 2.6 / 3.2, even at 3 times the price (around £100)

A good code reader will show how the MAF is reporting, and may prove good or condemn.

What fault codes do you have?  (pedal trick, see my sig, shows how to read your own codes)

Fault codes

P0100 MAF/VAF sensor  Present -002 signal too low.

Would it be an idea to replace old sensor and reset faults and see what happens ?
