~~Lazyfec~~ ...glassback came over today to try to install "My Naff Code Reader" softare for me (which didnt work) so we tried his reader on my car, as the airbag light has been on since I changed the seats.The reader came up with "92- sensor pad 1 circuit malfunction". It kept switching between present / not present.
This might suggest a bad connection ? sensor pad 1 - drivers seat ? :-/
Any ideas anyone ? Tia.

we seem to be getting a few with this fault lately

Its the child seat / seat occupancy detection that is sewn into the seat.

How we fix it, is still unknown.

Could be a seat swap
could be a reconfigure of the airbag ecu to say occupancy not present
could be install a resisitor somewhere and disconnect the relavent wire.

So pad sensor 1 is the passenger seat Jimbob ?.....is the constant switching between present/ not present a common factor also ?
Lazydocker thought his "My Naff Code Reader" would be able to clear the code and put the light off, but it wouldnt have it.

Did you try clearing the code with the child seat sensor plug disconnected

Were the seats you removed the same 'spec' as the new ones?

I've got the same problem with mine when I retro fitted the leather seats. I'm going to try and fit the later airbag ECU.

If it were me then ideally I'd feel happier with a matching set of S.R.S. equipment all from one car.

Got the problem resolved tonight.Unplugged the child seat sensor. Finally got my laptop to acccept installation of usb driver for code reader, then plugged it into the car and cleared the fault code - light went out.

Inside the front passenger seat. The connector is under the seat. Flat yellow oblong plug (3 wires) about 50mm x 30mm x 10mm

Whenever messing with airbag systems I would strongly advise disconnecting the battery

It is the best thing to do, disconnect the battery and then go and have a smoke/cup of T to allow any residual current to dissipate...

If you can't be bothered to do that then you should be aware that if you turn on the ignition whilst any part of the srs is disconnected then you will get a light on the dash that needs re-setting.

Well first thanks for the help but I'm afraid to inform you all that this particular fault was not cured with the instructions albs gave me when i followed instructions it did clear the child seat fault but it just created another one that the circuit pad has a fault so back to the drawing board

Iirc mine said seat pad fault - thats where the child seat occupancy sensor is. :-/

Yes mine is the same but when I unplug it like you said to do then it comes up with another fault instead of getting rid of the initial problem, I'm beginning to think its a wiring issue because I can't see why the procedure what you have told me shouldn't work so it's back to square one with it Im afraid

On mine, I unplugged the sensor, cleared the fault code, and (after a couple of starts iirc) the light went out.
I presume your using a Chinese code reader, which we are not allowed to mention on here due to copyright laws ?

Thanks guys for posts and information but still for a month I have no clue how to fix this stupid Child Seat Detection Sensor.

I get the information on polish forum.omegaklub.eu that using original Tech2 in official Opel Car Service they can deactivate this sensor. So I went there, they charged me ~50euro for 1h "computer diagnostics" and said that they can not reprogram my airbag module

When I try with my "My Naff Code Reader" to change CSD sensor for Not In Use I get "programming failed". That's why I get to official Opel Service. 50euro for nothing.
So I tried your suggestions. I disconnected yellow flat connector, cleared in "My Naff Code Reader" the error codes, then refresh codes list and then I get "Seat Occupancy Pad 1 Not Present", but there is no CSD Malfunction error. I cleared the connection pins, put some WD40 and tied strongly the connector and then tried again to clear the codes. Now the situation is the same as at the beginning. I see only CSD sensor malfunction.

As far as I know, in the passanger seat there is inside this seat occupancy pad (like a rubber keyboard) with some chip + sensor for Child Seat Detection. It is all on 3 wires (yellow flat square connector). So whenever I disconnect this yellow connector and clear codes, I don't get CSD malfunction but the whole Occupancy Pad is Not Present. So it won't fix my problem but create bigger one. Am I missing something?

Summary for the moment:
- I'm unable to deactivate CSD sensor in "My Naff Code Reader"
- Opel Car Service (official) is unable to deactivate CSD sensor in Tech2 (or they don't know how)
- messing with Occupancy Pad/CSD sensor yellow flat square connector doesn't help

If only someone could describe his procedure step by step and on which Omega version it was done. Or some other suggestion/advice.
Mine is Omega B FL 2002 3.2 V6 Y32SE Executive caravan/combi.
