Newbie from Lincs
« on: 19 November 2010, 17:28:05 »

8-)Hi all, just purchased a one owner 52,000 mile 51reg 2.6 cdx manual in star silver have, seen it in my local dealership for £2995.00 went past yesterday & saw it marked down to £1995.00 test drove it today and seems really nice got £600.00 for my old Mazda 626 in p/ex, pick it up on the 1st of December after full cam belt service & mot etc only fault i could really find is that the boot lid  would not open from the interior release .which they will sort out.Previous owner a retired gentleman who has bought a new Insignia, what kind of mpg should i expect on a daily commute all on good A roads  i do not have a heavy right foot jouney is 27 miles each way thanks in anticipation.

Hello & Welcome, I too came to Omegas from a Mazda 626 :y

expect hi 20's to low 30's on that sort of trip with a light foot and light traffic.

The boot release may be technique rather that fault, the button will likely only work with the key OUT the ignition.  If that doesnt work, press and hold for about 5 seconds.

Thanks for the welcome ,the last V6 i had was a 1983 2.3 Granada lx  3 speed auto which sometimes only managed 15 mpg however things have moved on with some of the mpg figures car makers are now quoting , my Mazda is a 2.0 diesel which never does less than 45mpg but it is such a boring drive!! Cannot beat the growl of a V6 or V8 imho.

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Check out the meets section, there's a Lincs meet in the planning stages. Maybe you could pop along when it's finally organised ;)
