:( Anybody else got the horrible feeling we are going to embarrass ourselves as a country ? unsold tickets, G4 security, the traffic? the omens aren't looking good.
-
Government couldn't organise an orgy in a free brothel :D
-
Who cares. I was bored of this by my birthday (8th July) 7 years ago.
Roll on September.

It's very sad to say Red that, as a country, we're already in a state of unquestionable embarrassment - have been so for some considerable time and furthermore will, no doubt, be so for sometime to come.
-
Not as bored as me,but not only am I apparently attending the closing ceremony, but tickets are on their way for the swimming too.
Dont know how I,ll cope with all the excitement. ::) :-X

I really can't believe that, after the years of crap we've had to suffer under successive governments, they expect us to forget it all and suddenly come over all patriotic like.
They can shove it. If I had the means, I would be long gone.

I aint got much,but I,ll chip in as much as I can. :y :P ;D ;D

Had the exact same conversation today with Mrs CG. She heard an ad on the radio asking people not to use the trains during the Olympics, but to drive in. How? Via the olympic lanes at £130 a pop?
If it rains there's a flood
If it doesn't there's a drought.
Border staff swamped.
Airports at max during normal use.
Tube can't cope with rush hour normally.
Elevated sections of road falling apart.
Economy is fe@ked
Staff in all the shops are retarded.
We have no coppers left
Armed forces standing in... And there's surface to air missiles on tower blocks in built up areas.
...and war ships on the Thames.
With the biggest hot bed of terrorist groups outside the sand box.
What could possibly go wrong...?
It's going to be a disaster, I am quite certain.

I find it strange that everything is "The Governments fault" -- actually "The Government" - as an entity - does not exist.. however .. that's another argument
Tickets unsold - What has that to do with "government" ??? they didn't set the prices/venues/popularity or anything else to do with ticket sales ...
G4S lied, and took the money, why not blame those actually responsible .. managers at G4S who did not fulfill the contract they signed. How is that the fault of "government"
Traffic - there will be a dramatic increase in numbers using facilities .. common sense says this will increase traffic ... TfL are responsible ... not "government"
Now I am not a supporter of any party .. I would say the same of any party in the same position .. it is all too easy to blame a fictitious "body" ... hows about actually THINKING about who you are blaming .. rather than bleating like sheep because the papers say it is so ..
People make decisions .. not institutions .. :)

OK, thats me interested. You think London could be wiped out in one hit?
-
Got to be an idea in their heads..?
Why the missiles and military presence?
Typhoons on stand by.
Although it may be difficult to direct an attack at the US / Uk without involving other countries.
But they'd certainly get some head lines.

All that these dickwipes are trying to do is earn an extra farthing or 12, by holding the UK to risk of world embarrassment.
dickwipes...... ::)

We could just rename them the London EU Games, so that when it all goes tits up we can blame Furher Merkel and champion UKIP to get us out of the mess :D :D :y :y

I think it'll be fine, we'll muddle through in a typically British way...!! :y
The main problem is the media hyping up all the hitches! Take the security situation for example. As Entwood has pointed out, G4S havn't fulfilled their contractual obligations, but the Government has stepped in and provided troops to fill the gaps! Sorted!!! :y
There are bound to be hiccups when staging an event of this magnitiude and it seems to me that things are being dealt with as they crop up..... ;) But being British we do love to have a whine and a moan.... ::)

It's all a load of old s&@t,it's doing my head in and it hasn't even started yet... >:( >:( >:(

How many G4S staff does it take to change a lightbulb?
6 soldiers and a policeman.
