It's very sad to say Red that, as a country, we're already in a state of unquestionable embarrassment - have been so for some considerable time and furthermore will, no doubt, be so for sometime to come.

I really can't believe that, after the years of crap we've had to suffer under successive governments, they expect us to forget it all and suddenly come over all patriotic like.

They can shove it. If I had the means, I would be long gone.

Had the exact same conversation today with Mrs CG. She heard an ad on the radio asking people not to use the trains during the Olympics, but to drive in. How? Via the olympic lanes at £130 a pop?
If it rains there's a flood
If it doesn't there's a drought.
Border staff swamped.
Airports at max during normal use.
Tube can't cope with rush hour normally.
Elevated sections of road falling apart.
Economy is fe@ked
Staff in all the shops are retarded.
We have no coppers left
Armed forces standing in... And there's surface to air missiles on tower blocks in built up areas.
...and war ships on the Thames.

With the biggest hot bed of terrorist groups outside the sand box.

What could possibly go wrong...?

It's going to be a disaster, I am quite certain.

I find it strange that everything is "The Governments fault" -- actually "The Government" - as an entity - does not exist.. however .. that's another argument

Tickets unsold - What has that to do with "government" ??? they didn't set the prices/venues/popularity or anything else to do with ticket sales ...

G4S lied, and took the money, why not blame those actually responsible .. managers at G4S who did not fulfill the contract they signed. How is that the fault of "government"

Traffic - there will be a dramatic increase in numbers using facilities .. common sense says this will increase traffic ... TfL are responsible ... not "government"

Now I am not a supporter of any party .. I would say the same of any party in the same position .. it is all too easy to blame a fictitious "body" ... hows about actually THINKING about who you are blaming .. rather than bleating like sheep because the papers say it is so ..

People make decisions .. not institutions .. :)

Got to be an idea in their heads..?

Why the missiles and military presence?

Typhoons on stand by.

Although it may be difficult to direct an attack at the US / Uk without involving other countries.

But they'd certainly get some head lines.
