Sounds like it needs a new clutch :-[

Sounds more like the pedal assembly ....... if the clutch itself that'd failed, there'd have been slip. But it's a loooooong time since I'v worked on something with an extra pedal ::) ::)
Isn't there a self adjuster in there somewhere ..... :-\ :-\

Sounds like the clutch cover plate springs have failed or the slave cylinder has failed.
my bet the slave has gone.
-
isnt sticking pedals more to do with the slave cylinder as opposed to the clutch itself? learning about clutches at the moment ::)
if it is that dont you have to take the transmission out anyway? in which case prob best to stick az new clutch in at same time?

Lack of clutch fluid ???
(I don't even know where the reservoir is on a manual omega .. is it combined with the brake one or separate ??)
Master cylinder seal gone ???
Return Spring failure ?
Those are the things I seem to remember from when I had cars with more pedals than feet ... :)

First check fluid level then bleed, clutch release dosnt like low fluid,if that dosnt cure then sounds like clutch gone u/s.
-
yep slave is inside the bell housing. :(
-
Fluid is same resovoir as brakes

AH . so low fluid would put the brake level light on .. and that is not mentioned ...

Mine did that when the flexi hose split. The pedal has an 'over-centre' spring to reduce the foot pressure required when you are waiting to release the clutch (which is way the pedal is pulled either up or down)
As others have said it might also be a failed master or slave cylinder.
Changing the flexi hose requires removal of the gearbox unfortunately as it screws into the side of the slave cylinder in the bell housing :(

Nige. If you look at the passenger side of your brake fluid reservoir you'll see a plastic pipe with a heat sealed crimp on the end ...... that's where the feed is for a clutch's share of fluid. :y :y

If the clutch springs fail the clutch will slip.
Master cylinder or fluid loss due to a failed hose is more likely

Every day is a learning day ;) ;) ;) ;) ........ even at your age ::) ::) ;)

Return Spring failure ?
that is it.
Even if somebody steals master cylinder, pedal should be in normal position.

I didn't think any of you used 3 pedal cars in the US ::) ::) ::)
