Flog the bike & Elite and get one of these, I'd change the grill for the Chrome Supercharged style one. But apart from that, the price, spec. Hummmm :-*

Very nice mr.tunnie , take it for a nice long test drive ... only 170 on the speedo ::) ;)
-
Give it a go mate, you won't be disappointed!! Only comment I'd make about this particular one is that it hasn't got the large touch screen, it has the 2 smaller screens.
-
What a beauty, please dont buy it :o
-
I thought you were a young fella Tunnie, didn't realise you're 67!! ;D ;D ;D
-
Very nice. Go for it man, your only here once! :y

One I drove that Josh had, that had big screen. Very nice it was too, screens in the rear too.
Like Omega you really do get a lot of car for the money, the diesels are considerably more than V6/V8 too.
Tempted to sell bike; stash the cash. Wait also for share save scheme to complete and get one :)
-
....Go for it; are you really sure you wouldn't miss the 'bike though?
I haven't really got over my two -wheel thing since my last was nicked and put under a Car (after he jumped the lights) :'(
Looks a lovely motor though................... ::)
-
That would be fun, but that would be a b!tch to LPG.......
::)
I know you are thinking about that ::) ;D
-
Nice enough, but expensive for a car that is very nearly a decade old.
£3300-£4000 would be closer to the mark.......or perhaps I'm just a tight bastard. ;)

Similar spec Mercs and BMWs are considerably more than the Jaaaaag.
I know the sensible option is gas the 3.2 ::)

More than seven grand for a 2004 anything ( unless exotic) is pricey. ;)
-
did not think it was a bad price myself :-[ mind you what do i know :D nice motor though :y

Yup :D :D ;D

get a XJR6 like mine and we can both learn from each other while converting them :y
-
No offence but why would you want a 3.5 V8? I mean you're not know for having a lead foot so it would be pointless to buy a car like this and drive it like miss daisy. Mind you, you'll probably he able to get 35mpg out of it ;D
-

And the Omega is not? I drive an Omega so I don't really care if its old or new really :)

All about "waft-ability" in these I think, one I drove was 4.2 V8, silence and plenty of go.

Does mean the older versions though :(

I must admit i quite fancy one of these for little money http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-JAGUAR-XJ8-AUTO-SILVER-/221225371325?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item33820f46bd
Would save you a barrow load of cash mr tunnie .
:)
-
True, I do like those as well. I'd have to get Supercharged version though :-*
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJR-4-0-V8-Auto-1999-T-reg-/140972749281?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item20d2a171e1 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJR-4-0-V8-Auto-1999-T-reg-/140972749281?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item20d2a171e1)
Lot cheaper, take a long time to burn though the 3k saved in fuel.

I think you miss my point Tunnie, it's not about the age of the car but the age of the driver. My Uncle has a Jag XJ something or other and he's a 72 year old retired company director and probably the typical Jag driver.... :-\
So when I say it's an old man's car it's a bit like saying it's a hairdresser's car! ;D

If it went for not a penny more than £1500 (with 12 months MOT) I think this could be a reasonable buy. :y

Oooo Arrr Lovecrunch! You should get ee aands on some of our finest Carrot Zider we av round yer!! Puts yer ead in the shed it do!! ;D ;D ;D
So yes lets call the Jag a hairdressers car, but the hairdresser should be elderly, indistinguishable from male or female, wear a flat cap and smoke a pipe, whilst driving round at no more than 40mph..... ;) Get it?? :P

+1 ill keep an eye on it :y
-
4 days still to go, think it will go for just over £2k, maybe £2.5k.
Least with this age, DIY work is still a real possibility, unlike Modern cars

What would put me off, its had 6 owners! why? bought it then couldnt afford to run it? or it keeps breaking??
-
Repetitive breaking results in not being able to run it ::) especially if it needs a tyre or two, or tax, or fuel ;D
As for fitting in the garage...It won't so no need to measure it ;D

I was thinking of not being able to afford to run it.....as in the petrol it uses :y
Ive seen some Rangie owners driving at 50-55 on the M4.......smacks of " i can afford to buy it, but i carnt afford to put the fuel in it" ;D ;D
