Thoughts are with the poor victim's family. :'( :'(
Cadet apparently beheaded by two assailants shouting "Allahu Akbar". >:( >:(
-
Likewise - its a shame the attackers were only wounded by the police - would have saved a lot of time and money if police had killed them (cost of a few bullets only) >:(

The attackers appear to be muslim.
I hope they live forever.

Was shocked[and a little worried]when I heard this on the news.It seems so it was saying that the attackers were after an armed confrontation with police. Why not just let the army deal with them?Thoughts are of course with the relatives of the victims. On a selfish note I admit to a feeling of relief,as one of my sons-in-law is a soldier who works from there, but he's not one of those attacked.

It's cheaper, but if they had been killed, they would be regarded as martyrs.
Although it costs more, I'm glad they're alive. They've had a taste of what it's like to be shot, so now let them face justice and live out long and miserable lives behind bars.
Hopefully they're British nationals, so they won't be shipped out of our control.

Lethal injection for these scumbags , job done :(

Dead martyrs :y - if they live you and I contribute to thier comfortable lives in prison >:( >:( >:(
Dead martyrs ? Why give them what they want, and who said anything about 'comfortable' lives ?
There's no pain and suffering with a lethal injection, and certainly none administrable after. >:(

If ever there was a reason to re-instate the death penalty this is surely it :'( :'(

no worries full saturated fatty meat will kill them soon :y

only problem with this '..........' is they are more use alive than dead and also the shot too kill policy was dropped by the new goverment...another thing to thank them for...but bit worrying they hang around untill armed plod arive then turn their guns onto the police....think they should be used for experimental drug treatments which cause as much pain as possible

Sadly, this is only one of the opening skirmishes of our civil war. As Muslim communities become a bigger percentage of the UK population, the attacks are going to get bolder, more frequent and bloody. >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm with Turk on this, as I do not support the death penalty.
Life should mean life, and it should be hard time. Lock them up in a damp dark medieval dungeon for the rest of their natural life in solitary confinement!

Although the initial response of many is for such criminals to be put to death, it could be argued that such justice is simply too lenient and not appropriate. "Eternal damnation" would be better. I can currently think of no earthly equivalent of eternal damnation available other than that which you describe. :y

Sky reporting a gathering of between 75 - 100 EDL supporters in Woolwich tonight, where missiles and bottles were thrown at the Police! ::)

Soldier named as Lee Rigby.
He was a 25 year old drummer with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers
A 2 years old little lad will grow up without his dad because of these bastards >:( >:( >:(
F**k, it not often i'm lost for words but this time I just don't know what i'd do if I got my hands on these two.
Either way, they would suffer :-X
RIP Lee :(
I can foresee some muppet retaliating over this :(
And then the shite will really hit the fan ....................

well stunned an outraged, then ffing fumming after watching cleric Anjem Choudray defending thier actions and blamming britains foreign policy adding that muslims are under attack all the time on britains streets.
The public execution no slaughter of a british soldier on our streets should not go un punished, Anjem Choudray should be shipped of this island and his family without hesitation and the british Army should be able to retaliate sending a clear message
We have the most proffessional Army in the world but also the most politicaly correct, stop ffing around and let the boys loose
If the do gooders cant handle it let them spend some time in the firing line or just on the streets instead of tucked up in thier safe retreats.
Let the army police the streets for a while with live amo
deepest sympothys to the family of this young Lad what must the family be going through for thier son to be publicaly slaughtered like this

Too many years of mamby bloody pamby political correctness.
The pendulum has really swung in the ethnics' favour now. Will it ever come back? Doubt it very much.

instead of us all paying for their cushy time in prison, they should be ran over and beheaded just as they did to poor lee in exactly the same spot, eye for an eye and all that!!

Obviously all our thoughts are with Lees family :'(
One head shot each, a thorough and intrusive post mortem just to be sure followed by a nice simple, respectful Christian funeral. Finished up with burial at sea. Anything else would be being barbaric for the sake of it :-\

Hi Guys/Gals,
Firstly condolences to the bereaved and family for what was clearly an insane and stupid act by some lunatics acting in the name of Islam. Islam is totally against the taking of an innocent life so please do not think this was done in the name of the religion. These lunatics have been brainwashed and have misinterpreted or manipulated the words of the religion for the benefit of themselves and their actions/motives.
I do not wish to aggrevate or annoy anyone on hear and I definately will not do any preaching but please let me say that these idiots do not reflect the entire majority of muslims in the UK. Unfortunately there are a minority that is giving the rest of us a bad name but such is life nowadays that because it is always in the media about muslims doing bad things that naturally everybody thinks we are all the same. Please believe me that this is not the case.
I agree that our elected govt needs to man up. However it is not just from recent times that criminals/muslims appear to have more human rights than the average civillian and we end up bending over backwards for them to look after them rather than making them suffer for the crime they have committed. This has been the case as far as I remember, any of you remember the Jamie Bulger incident? I think it was in Liverpool.
Unfortunately we live in a society where everybody has rights, freedom of speech expression etc and such apply to everyone. We have forgotten that there should also be boundaries for common sense as people from all areas believe they can do want they want. I'm not sure this is the best way to the ideal society.
Thanks,
Kammy

Saw the Imam on the news at lunchtime kammy.
I though the bloke spoke a lot of sense and from the heart and I respect that :)
BUT, this country's laws are based on the Christian values (or at least they should be)
Imo, everybody should have the right to worship at whatever church they chose without interference.
On our streets, we have British citizens who claim to follow Islam who are spouting nothing other then hatred.
Now if the peace loving followers of Islam in this country where to take to the streets and directly confront these scum in public, you would find that a lot of the fear would disappear and the general population would rightly stand alongside them :)

Yup, that's were most of our rules / laws and morals started but as always in life, things change

The problem you have here is that these idiots firstly dont do such things in their own communities. I suppose this is somewhat down to not needing to preach islam where the majority is already muslim and secondly due to the fact that if they did cause any trouble in their own back garden, mummy or daddy will not hesitate to taking a slipper to the behind. Atleast this was the case for me and I believe I turned out alright.
Also thanks to current times and laws, such clipping of the ears etc are supposedly not allowed. Parents therefore possibly are not taking such actions and kids are not being brought up with the same discipline and respect for others as may be they should. I know this to be true not just in my community with muslim families but also "western" families where kids go out of control.
Finally I have seen that there are very few parents that will accept they kids are wrong doers. Irrespective of nationality/ethnicity etc, many parents will not accept that they child has caused any trouble or mis behaved in any way. Again this is not restricted to muslims only. Every child is a prince in their house and therefore they grow up thinking and believing they can do what they want.
I have kids and I hope to bring them up as good humans, to be able to respect their elders and neighbours. They are only infants but I do hope I can bring them up well. I do send them to mosque to learn the quran, I did myself. How it is interprated is up to the individual just like any law or policy. I teach them what is right and wrong. Obviously if you bring your children up the right way, it should erradicate extremism of any sort.

So censorship is allowed, we aren't allowed an opinion? :( :( :(
Let me put it this way and see how you respond. Last year I was honoured to a guest at the marriage celebration of a good friends daughter, his eldest son was unable to attend..... He is serving 13 years in Belmarsh for incitement to murder. You think my opinions are right wing, you should hear his. Oh by the way he is a Muslim.

I will not hide as it is not my way and say I did "push the button" as certain comments were fast going the wrong way and could be seen as racially motivated, with a risk of inciting hatred against Muslims.
This is not right for any Forum that is decent, and cannot be correct for a car forum, being exactly what two admins have warned about recently with a suggestion they may have to close the OOF down if it gave them anymore agro.
The comments that were starting to be made were unsafe, and could, I politely warn you, attract the attention of the authorities who are now watching for any backlash on the Internet following the Woolwich incident.
Personally with these I am finding it very difficult to ignore them, and I must declare a legal interest in the content. I am an advisor to both Kent Police and the Crown Prosecution Service on, amongst many other subjects, on Hate Crime in general with all that entails. It is therefore becoming a conflict for me to see these threads and particular posts on them, that I hope you can readily identify, without taking action as I see fit with the authorities I advise. In fact I have been asked, along with other Police ICIA's, by Kent Police to contain extreme racially motivated comment on the Internet and life in general, reporting back to them as required.
Sorry to stop being a nice Lizzie Zoom, but I will stand up and be counted when the law is starting to be impinged and especially when it is taking our wonderful forum to the brink. I, as most of you know, can be "strong minded" when it comes to political matters and make my views known, but I know when to draw the line, and have made a point of doing that even more so after the recent debate on such posting.
Let's all take a deep breadth and respect our fellow human beings, letting the authorities take the appropriate action as necessary after such a terrible crime without expressing on a public forum extreme views. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Firstly, I'm a believer in the rule of law, not the rule of the mob. What these two individuals did in Woolwich was the latter. If we all take the law into our own hands, this country would be like Syria or Somalia which I'm sure none of us want. Would you really want to be taking your life into your hands everytime you go out to buy a loaf of bread or a pint of milk?
The Nazis tried in Ukraine killing 100 locals for every german soldier killed by the partisans. This did not stop the killing of German soldiers, in fact it increased it due to the feeling of injustice. After their defeat at Stalingrad many German soldiers tried to escape through the Ukraine, but very few made it back to safe areas as the partisans took their revenge on the killing of the innocent civilian population. Where many Germans thought they would be safe going through woodlands, the opposite was true as that was familiar territory to the partisans where they hid and lived in them. Such action on innocent people of any community would leave many people quite rightly aggrieved. I certaining would not want to see any such gross injustice to any members of UK society.
99.9% of Muslims are law abiding citizens that like you and me want to earn a living and bring up or be part of their family. Attacks on such people and their Mosques is again the rule of the mob and must be condemned. If not, where will it end, the killing of innocent muslims, which would make us as bad as the terrorists in Woolwich.
I think that there is a problem in society where only a white man can be racist and this does need to be addressed. Likewise, the free to exploit attitude of the authorities to vulnerable white girls by Asian gangs. But it both cases it is the politicians and authorities that need to get their act together to address these issues so there is a level playing field in the eyes of the law for all UK citizens regardless of colour, creed or faith. Good law is where all people are equal in the eyes of the law. Sadly, IMHO there have been many bad and misguided laws passed in the last 15 years. This was not a problem before 1997, nor was the expelling of undesirable people back to their country of origin, where it was against the UK national interest for them to be here.
For society to work we all have to obey good and bad laws. This means the laws we like but also the laws we dislike as this is the only way society can work in a civilised way.
I very happy with a reasonable levels of immigration as I think this has added to UK society, but I don't agree with the mass migration that has happened since 1997, but we can't turn the clock back, we are where we are. The Conservatives are trying hard to stem the tide with some success, but if like me you don't like our current society on many levels, then either make the effort to change it through peaceful political activism or like me decide to emigrate to where you feel more at home. I'm not alone 1,000,000 people that were born here have left in the last 10 years, mainly people with international in demand skills.

Two wrongs do not make a right.
so what is it GCHQ do???....as has far as a couple of persons i know that work at GCHQ that is what they are set up to do... in my capacity lizzie within kent police i need to respectivley remind you you really should not be posting on an open forum that you asked to advise a goverment agency :-X :-X

Why not? That is what I can do as a police ICIA in this instance, such is the concern of the Home Office. In addition I have been asked, as I stated, to monitor racists and inflammatory comment as Kent Police, with the other forces, want to stop any unrest and unnecessary worry spreading amongst the people, and try and calm certain sections of our communities to avoid a backlash.
It is good for the average person to understand that such action is taking place in their interests, as Kent Police have stated in an e-mail to me and want me to convey in part publicly, including on Internet sites such as this, and the community generally with senior police officer approval. However, much of what I specifically discuss within my brief cannot be made public as per the Official Secrets Act :) :) ;)
As for GCHQ; you should know that it is for the gathering of information and intelligence by MI agencies on a far higher level than the local police, dealing with potential threats from foreign governments and their agents, plus terrorist activity at lower individualistic levels, monitoring all forms of communication. Other than that most of us mortals can only guess at, and if certain individuals are letting you know certain facts they are breaching the Official Secrets Act. :D :D ;)
Finally TAM, I do not think the average intelligent being is surprised to know the authorities are "watching and listening" as that information has been allowed to flow out into the public domain already. In a democracy that is how things should work :) :) :) :y

There is, but in our Democracy there are the long standing rules about freedom as explained by various philosophers, but especially John Locke.
He correctly stated that freedom is a natural, God given right, for everyone. But that freedom enters into a social contract whereby no one person's freedom impinges on another. In other words our freedom is subject to us agreeing to live surrounded by other people and ensuring we do not hurt or hinder them. ;) ;)

With freedom comes responsibility.
The responsibility to USE that freedom correctly.
Unfortunately a very large percentage of the population have no idea of the concept of responsibility, and actually don't know the true meaning of the word "freedom".
:'( :'( :'(

Free speech? What absolute cock.
Its impossible to provide absolute free speech, as some dickhead always ruins it for all, be that OOFers constantly banging their political views down people's necks, or religious extremists doing unspeakable things in the name of a given religion. Or usually somewhere in between.
-
The word freedom is interpreted by different people, the world over as having a different value.
-
I suppose freedom of speech covers calling people retards ???
-
If you say so then thats your freedom but to somebody else that is not, hence wars are started because of it.
Nobody is ever free.
-
may I remind that the laws are always made by the powerful and it, not always but mostly protects them..
you will be free until your speech starts to shake their position or disturbs them.. that simple..

In other words, freedom has a different meaning according to that particular individuals situation.
Usually governed by class wealth.
