Title: Am I going bonkers...
Post by: TheBoy on 17 October 2013, 19:14:08
...or are the retards driving impossibly slow lately?

Why?

Today I've seen 40mph lorries have to overtake cars on the 70mph dual carriageway, and followed some stupid bint is a silver passat estate who not only pulled out in front of me, causing me to have to hit the anchors, but then proceeded along the road at 20-30mph for the next 2 miles until I could get past her.

WTF?

"Am I going bonkers..." Only you or some men in white coats can answer that.  ::)  ;D

[stirring spoon on]

No I think is where you are driving much too fast using still using the digital throttle (off or hard on the metal) technique you learn as a teenager wragging small motorbikes to death, once you have mastered that it is analogue and you only need to use 10% for 90% of the time instead of using 100%, 100% percent of the time, you will be fine.  ;D ;D ;D

[/stirring spoon off]

PS: If you do master this new throttle technique, then you can teach me, where I also like you learned my throttle control wragging not so small bikes to death.

Tunnie can then teach us how to get 30k out of a tyre, where a long lasting set for me is 6k for fronts and 10k for rears, but I have managed as little as 3k out of a rear motorbike tyre.  :-[

....

...... and then they flash you after you've overtaken them  ??? ??? ???

Amazes me how many people drive without lights on when the street lights are lighting up.... they're probably the same people who drive with fog lights on four weeks after the last known fog.

one of those stupid little FIAT 500 things this morning .. exactly 26 mph for 14 miles ... despite the limit varying from 20 mph near a school through all the 30, 40, 50 up to "National" .. she was doing 26 .. and that is what she was going to do ..... eventually it came my turn to get past, just 3 miles from my destination .. :(

I think 4k is about the norm off a modern bike rear tyre, even dual compound. I didn't manage much more even off an ER-5 I had for a while, and that isn't whet you would call a powerful bike. Oddly, I got similar from the ZX-10.

Not sure the tyres I slapped on the back of the Bullet last month will last long, as I had to show my displeasure with a retard, and as the ABS/TC lights were on anyway, took it sideways all the way up the road. See, bloody retards ruin my tyres  >:(

Had one today. Old bag in lane 3 doing 40, comes out of contaflow doing 40, sits in lane 3 in a national speed limit doing 40, everyone undertakes, some flash, she stands on the brakes, hard.
Loads of abuse to and from her from various people, eventually moves to lane 1 and sits there. You guessed it, at 40.

So now the lorry drivers are moving to lane 2 to avoid her. Bedlam, all caused by one moron.

Reading the road ahead  ::)

Besides I want 30k as a minimum!

Have only got about 4.5k out of the GS's rear though.

Fortunately for me the retard that calibrated this weeks shed on wheels managed to set it at 57mph instead of 56, so I have spent most of today sat in the middle lane ;D

I'm quite impressed with my self restraint though, as there have been several times today where I could easily have used the outside lanes :-[

There is some middle age tosser who drives an Astra H who I sadly get stuck behind sometimes in a morning as I leave the house, he does 20 in a 30, 28 in the 40 and 35 in the 60.....when I overtake in the 60 he flashes his lights and waves his fist.....this has happened a few times a week for the past 12 months!

Been thinking about replacing Amy's Micra with one of those :-[ 60mpg is appealing and they're not as slow as you'd think (based on the way my Dad drives his.. and 50+mpg at sustained >100mph on the Autobahn is pretty good)

It'd be the boredom for me. ::)

However, the local golf course in Four Marks had just been taken over by an Indian family. I'd imagine the golf is as dull as ever, but you can get a mean curry in the club house.

Hmm did someone mention curry? :P

The preparation is a bit of a faff, and I have a sweet tooth, so some of the green juices are quite frankly horrific as they're quite bitter ::) but overall, it's easy enough to follow :y

Have also been sleeping alot, although that might have as much to do with a physical 60 hour week  :-\

Haven't actually felt hungry either, which is a bit mindboggling...

Just over 90mins to get in this morning. 27 miles, approx 17m of which are dual carriageway, which are pretty fast roads.

By my calculations, thats a shade under a 20mph average.
