Title: Plan C
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 14 February 2014, 00:11:37
I wonder if the SNP have one after being told that Scotland will not be able to use Sterling as their currency in the event of independence.  ::)  :-\

Plan A was to join the Euro and if I'm right I believe that Alex Salmond is on record as saying that Scotland would adopt the Euro as "the English Pound is a millstone around Scotland's neck" but then when the Euro didn't look so good, they adopted Plan B, which was to keep the Pound and retain the services of the Bank of England, which is what English people wanted Scotland to do anyway! (Apparently!  ::) )

Except 2 Englishmen and a Scotsman didn't agree, namely George Osborne, Ed Balls and Danny Alexander who have politely told Mr Salmond to think again...  ::)

So I'm waiting to see what they're going to come up with next!!  :y

I have said it before, I personaly would be dissapointed to see Scotland as independent, it would be like distancing your brother.

The centuries of banter between us and yet all still best mates could potentialy be under threat.

And imagine popping upto Edinburgh ar elsewhere for the weekend or to visit friends/family and having to get different currency.

I cant help but think this is a power trip by a few individuals

I cant see any other outcome than a vote for the union. The news channels report it as though it is neck and neck because thats how the self-interested bastards work but, as far as I can see, there is absolutely nothing going for a split. Nationalistic noises are just that. When its all done, I hope the fish family wind their necks in and take it on the chin. I dont want to hear this arguement every time there is an election of some sort.
In my opinion, a vote to leave the EU would be futile as well. Plenty of shouting and insults, then common sense will prevail.

The thing is, Salmond is a highly intelligent and articulate man. Its just a pity that he cant use these attributes in a more constructive manner.
There are a lot of his ilk in Eire.......dangerous men.

Yep...the Scots will see sense in the end.

Besides, they'd be lost without the guiding hand (and money) of 'Mummy England'. ::) ::) ::) :)

The thing is that the Scottish people will vote in 7 months time, and as of today the SNP can't tell you for certain whether Scotland will be able to stay in the EU or have to reapply as a new member or even what money you'll have in your pocket in 2016!  ::)

If I was a Scot I'd think these things would be rather important to know for sure before I voted....  :o

It's OK, because once the vote goes his way, Salmond will march in and "negotiate". Pfft! ;D

All 3 political parties have slammed the door in his face but no.. It'll be alright. ;D

One of the big advantages of an independent Scotland to the current UK, apart from the obvious financial advantages, would be that it would discourage future British politicians, with their post-independence reduced stature on the world stage, on which they love to strut, from getting involved in foreign conflicts without thought of the consequences.  Especially given the amount of armed forces personnel from North of the Border. :y

It's the culmination of decades of campaigning for independence . I remember it all starting when  Winnie Ewing was elected and that cabal of dreamers have steadily kept the momentum going since.
I've listened to all their campaigning diatribe ( daily on Sky channel 951  :y ) and have to say that their ability to ignore or discard what doesn't comply with their utopian dream is laudable .
I've warned all of my friends and family back home what it's like to live in a country that decided that it would be better off outside the Union and to be very careful what you wish for.......
Think on Scotland.

I`ve never been further north than Luton airport. :)  I`ve only ever known one scotts bloke & he was a miserable C**T. >:( He told me his 9 brothers & 1 sister are all now living in the US. No doubt to get as far away from their a`hole of a  sibling as possible. As an apprentice he made my life living hell & now just listening to a scotts ascent makes me want to vomit on the person concerned. Just give them the bloody country & set the bastards adrift :y

What I find amazing is the pure hypocrisy of the man .. but the BBC and all other commentators don't pick up on it ... just how does ..

Salmond "demand" that the UK accept his decision to remain linked to Sterling after independance - is that not "bullying" UK ??

But when UK stands up to the bully and says "no" .. he accuses US of being bullies !!!

He then demands a "plan B" from UK ... we don't need to plan anything A, B or C .. HE wants independence.. not us ... so why should we "plan" anything !!

just WHY do the BBC allow him to get away with it ???  (actually the answer is easy .. the BBC will do anything they can to have a go at the present Government ... so by giving Salmond and his cohorts the support they make the government look bad.)

Not wanting to stand in the unionist camp, and the bigoted ar**holes that reside there! but given there's no real campaign in opposition to Salmond, is there any surprise he gets all the attention on the matter. :-\

An OOF poll would be interesting, if taken seriously ;D

100% true. I wouldn't give them pair of muppets the steam off my tea never mind my vote. People say vote for independence and when we get that vote them out 1st chance we get. Trouble is they will have royally cocked things up by then.  >:(

So on Monday Salmond vowed he was going to 'deconstruct' George Osborne's assertion that the UK would not enter a currency union with Scotland post independence, yet all he came up with was in increased costs of doing business and said again that Scotland can use Sterling...  ::)  He must go round with his fingers in his ears humming "La la la la la..... "  ;D

Anyway Old Fishface had better come up with a Plan C soon or Scotland may end up like this!!  :-X
